Kind of an odd description but I'm looking for 28mm heads for models that look as though they are out and about in the void, zero G, the cold unforgiving (and blissfully silent) place known as outer space.

Reason is I'm picking up a box of SM Scouts tomorrow of whom their bodies will serve as the base for space / void suit clad people for future games of Rogue Trader on 3D Space Hulk terrain (lad can dream right?). The only thing missing is a good head to complete the look. I'm looking for something along the lines of deep space, not a gasmask and combat helmet. Here are some pics to give the idea some form:







I've tried converting but I'm horrible at that, so any help into the right direction or head-dealing company is much appreciated.

I have, but for the most part their stuff is just gasmasks and combat helmets. Sure there's the visored helmet sprue but that isn't that spacey to me.

Hmm, tough one.

For seperate heads the only ones I can think of are Pig Iron, West Wind and Alpha Forge. Pig Iron's visored heads would seem your best pick of them.

But I don't know if you can get the heads off.

One of the Pig Iron heads is a fully enclosed face.

Those Pig Iron heads look great! I had the same idea for some of my SM Scouts, this will fit the bill nicely.

Well thanks for the ideas guys and gal, I've just placed my order with Pig Iron for the fully enclosed non-visor helmets, all I need to do now is get my grubby mits on a box of regular scouts.

Someone on the B&C used the plastic lightbulb pieces for model railroad streetlights. Apparently they had a nice bubble shape. He just used those instead of Space Marine helmets to get a pretty cool look.

Wow, now that's a look I can stick to. Pity though that I am using scout bodies.

Do a simple head swap using small marbles or plasitc beads (of appropriate size). Then paint them shiny gold all over, and voila! the classic fishbowl helmet from 50's sci-fi.

You could put real lightbulbs on and make them light up with the righteous Wrath Of The Spase Emporer!

For a cheap option try using just beads or wood balls from Michael's. Paint silver, and call it good.

yea, michaels is a good place to check.....though i'm rather conviced that the 5th level of artist hell is an eternity of saturday/sunday afternoon in a michaels

Hi everyone, i know that i raise the dead with this topic but i am in this situation and the best thing i found is these puppets war head:



But 5 heads is little for a complete army.

The dark eldar head are pretty good,
but in all the bits websites their are out of stock and on ebay they are rather expensive 2 for 9.99$:


These bubble solution isn't good for me because i use Imperial guard like body and i want something "noble" because my project is a private terran house army.


So please if you know other head models that could work or a place where i can buy dark eldar head tell me.

Maximin I did a set of astronaut heads that seems designed for GK but work for any type of spacey model.

And i already looked at maxmini.

I thought fire warriors helmets could work in stat style with some mods.

- I already think about Tau firewarrior head but they are really anchored as a Tau part and my army will seem to be from a planet that as betrayed Imperium to joined The Great Good.

Too small for regular 28mm heroics though.
