OK... so I ordered some of the new plastic nobs. I was hoping to be able to model the nobs with big choppa/powerklaw and a combi shoota. This is impossible to do right of the box. They modelled the combi shootas with both hands holding it, as they did with the big choppa. The codex clearly allows you to have a big choppa/powerklaw and a kombi shoota. I feel like I just wasted money buying these boxes, because I am going to have to convert them now. If I knew I was going to have to convert them I would have just used some black reach nobs for the converting.

The old metal nobs had the nobs holding the kombi shootas with one hand, rambo style.

You would think they would know their own codex when designing their models.

arghhh.

Anyone have any suggestions here?

Not that difficult. Both are normally 2-handed weapons, so have hime carrying one weapon nomally, and the other weapon strapped to his back.

Or if you desperately want him holding both at once, convert the one-handed slugga/axe arms to carry the bigger weapons instead.

Hey, converting is the best reason to collect orks!

Yeah converting is half the fun of playin Orks. Converting the two handed guns to one hand is very easy like Clang said. Just use the hand from a slugga and put the shoota on it, then do the same thing with a choppa hand and put the big choppa on it.

Of all the mistakes you have made, the best are yet to come.

In all honesty it isnt that bad. Besides it says you have have to do some work to the minis for completion anyways. To me thats not a reason to complain. You can complain when they make MM standard on dreds, and the only one that HAS a MM is in the AOBR box. Or better yet, the thunderfire cannon. My god Ive heard nothing but garbage about how those go together. Shaving a hand or two isnt nothing

The biggest problem is the kombiguns and big choppas have an extra hand attacked to it with a separate arm that connects to the wrist/shoulder. its minor conversion work to cover it

Ditto, ditto, ditto.

Check mine out.

You can easily see I modified one without one hand and the other on his back has no hands, I did the whole group sporadically over two days. Lots of other alterations as well.

Yes this is my main gripe. The second hand is molded onto the weapon. I wouldn't call "carving" the molded on hand "minor" conversion work. I prefer to leave the sculpting up to the sculpter, and not try to "sculpt" hard plastic with a a hobby knife, and sand paper.

I was just hoping for it to be a little easier thats all.

It's quite easy to convert them. I've got one nob with the choppa over his shoulder and the other hand holding the gun by the barrel. I've got one with the axe over his head, with a rokkit and a shoota strapped to it for a kombi rokkit, and I've got a PK nob hefting the gun by one hand.
