Hi i have several guard snipers and am not a big fan of the whole 'hobbit style' Ratling's. After watching enemy at the gate for the 3rd time i was inspired to have snipers in my upcoming guard army, But seeming special weapon squads of snipers are a waste *crap BS of 3 and only 3 snipers* i was wondering if i could use guard snipers as ratlings? given that they have camocloaks and special gear witch would make up for the stealthyness AND would this be legal in a Tornament like conflict and such.

You should be fine. That's what I am doing with my Tanith army. It's pretty clear from the unit composition what they have to be and when you deploy them, you say "A unit of 6 Ratling Snipers". Done!

I had a group of IG snipers that I put on the cloaks from the SM Space Wolves and claimed them as skins of some large rat beasts, that way the name made sense.

There were some old Necromunda models called "Ratskin Scouts" that might be fun to sub...
I rather like the old Ratling models, myself. Trucker caps and sideburns, yay!

Sounds like a plan. Friendly games non issue. Tourney games ask the TO, but I've never seen a TO turn down such a thing. IG sniper models are mind numbingly cool minis and there's no reason they wouldn't be accepted as they effectively do the same thing.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
