i dont need another fantasy army, nor do i need another painting load on my already full desk, but what can i do right? what do you all think of this 2000 point list:

i have zero experience with high elves, but i liek alot of their items, ive also never had anything that had ASF either, so it would be alot of new experiences.

Hmmm....

You're quite low on special choices. WoC, and Brettonians will walk all over this list. Not too fighty.

Try to add some White Lions, or Pheonix Guard.

I don't know too much about HE, but it could be loads harder - you even have 4 core choices!! A simple change would be breaking up the swordmasters into 2-3 MSU choppy units, which I see most people do. Easy to neuter with shooting then, but extra chop-chop. Go fig, but an 18-strong unit is pretty butch.

The list seems pretty slow to me in general, with no hot sex dragon princes or even eagles to bother the hell out of the guy who wants to charge across the field and break your high cheekbones. Even one big bird / angel / baby dragon would be a big tactical boost.

Hoo boy.

First off - with High Elves, unless you're really going with a fluffy Yvresse list, don't take more than min Core. While a block of elf spears can be quite nasty, they're never going to do enough damage to deal with enemy heavy-hitters. Drop the Archers to 10.

The Prince really isn't worthwhile unless you're planning on bringing out a Dragon. Make him a Noble with the AoC w/ a Great Sword and you'll save a lot of points with relatively decrease in killiness. If you're going with a Foot slogging HE list, I'd consider the Reaver Bow. Those 3 S5 shots hitting on 2's (for the most part) is devastating.

The BSB is alright for the most part, but I feel like the benefits of the Battle Banner are somewhat lost by the lack of mobility.

For spears, try to go for units of 21 (7x3). It's arguably the best sizing for them.

Unless you plan on focusing on the Magic Phase, I'd drop the Banner of Sorcery. While quite a nice banner, you won't be gleaning as much benefit from it unless you go Magic Heavy.

If you drop one unit of archers and one unit of spears, you can get yourself a nice sizeable block of Phoenix Guard or White Lions. Either one can provide you a great Anvil Unit that can be supported by/support spears and Swordmasters. With regard to the Swordmasters, you'd probably be better off splitting them into two units of 7 to give you a bit more flexibility and providing an extra threat to your opponent.

As Cryonicleech says - High Elves do their most damage from their Special Choices. Self-limiting those choices will really hinder your success.

Consider an Eagle or a unit of Shadow Warriors for War machine hunting - you'll need it.

Well, I don't think that they're not viable, it's just that you need to work around a slower Movement phase.

i like alot of things in high elves though. ill rework the list. i have the new dragon model, and i like dragon princes. ill rework the list a lil.

can someone suggest some good dragon loadouts with the prince? CC and shooty variaties.
