Subject: Tomb Kings Question

Grovelin' Grot Rigger
|
I played a Tob Kings player last weekend and had a question on how something was played.
I was in combat wiht one of his skull catapults and with another unit of swarms. I killed the crew in combat and a few of the swarms and won combat by 5. The swarms have enough to take the hits to stay around more rounds.
His next turn he raises the crew of the catapult with magic and shoots it as normal, as they are not in combat anymore.
My question is how do I get rid of catapult? Why didn't it go away when i killed the crew in combat.

I think that that was a misplay.
According to the BRB under Warmachines in CC:
"If the warmachine has no crew left to defend it at the end of a close combat, the enemy automatically destroy the machine"
I'd argue that while you're still in combat with the swarms, you destroyed the crew of the warmachine that turn so by the end of that combat phase the skull catapult goes is destroyed.

Concur with Jin, based on that quote. If it said models rather than crew there might be an argument... but it doesn't.

Thanks,
I had the book open more that game then any other and I missed that section when looking for it.
A follow up question.
This did not come up but I was curious.
He also claimed then he could use the TK magical move to move the skull thrower and then use a magical shoot to fire it. Is this correct?

Actually the Tomb Kings book has a rule that suggests that you must kill both the catapult and the crew or the other half may be raised.
That having been said, the Catapult will also crumble from combat res.
And a catapult cannot move as far as I remember, but he *can* make it fire twice a turn if the incantation goes off.

Ragnar, are you saying the Screaming Skull Catapult in particular can't move? In general, catapults can move just like any other war machine- at the base move of their crew.
