How far can a Land Raider move and unload its Troops?

12" for the vehicle or 18" on a road. If you include shrike in your army then you can add run+charge for a max of 30" on a road

18"+6"(if 6 is rolled)+6"charge

EDIT- If shrike isn't chosen then only add charge or run

Orkishly, Orkishly you underestimate the powers of the Dark Si... i mean land Raider. Remember you get another 2 inches from disembarking :-P so...

On road:
18 + 2 + (1 to 6) + 6 = 27" to 32"

Off road:
12 + 2 + (1 to 6) + 6 = 21" to 26"

Shrike lets them assault after disembarking? Or is that a land raider thing?

It's 'a Land Raider thing', you wouldn't understand.

While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

It's a land raider thing. Shrike gives them fleet, so they can run and assault after disembarking.

Yeah, shrike basically is the best.

Ahh, right gotcha. The land raider lets them assault, and shrike gives them fleet.

The Eye of Terror

I learned that the hard way when I was playing with my Tau against a 3-Raider tourney list.

He DS'd some assault marines, then moved that FULL distance (with road) and destroyed my devilfish in the shooting phase assaulted it's contents with scouts, then assaulted another fish with his termies, then turn 2 DSd some Vanguard and killed all my battlesuits, then his assault squads picked off the stragglers. I was tabled before my second shooting phase.

I always underestimate Land Raiders. I wish IG had a Higgins Boat sorta thing that would let you assault too. Wait, no, why in the Emperors name would I assault anything with Guard? Maybe with Straken? Or Ogryns I suppose.

On an unrelated note, that's quite the avatar you have there, Hjoey75.

One of these days I'm going to figure out how Nova gets into that outfit... I'm pretty sure she just stands there and they spray her with Armoury Primer.

Plus almost an inch for the model's base, almost two inches if they're on termies bases. As the picture shows, just part of their base has to be within 2" of the disembark point.

Yeah 4th ed did say that, that's because they didn't have the different movement classifications back then though, just distances.

I'm pretty sure roads in 5th edition just didn't get much thought because they are entirely messed up. Ork trukk moving at cruising speed on a road - 18" models may disembark, Ork trukk moving at flat out on a road - 18" models may not disembark. The very brief rules for roads appear to have been written with only standard vehicles in mind, with no concern for fast vehicles or transports. While I'm not one to argue with the rulebook when a rule is this unambiguous it's certainly a bit messy.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Did you actually read the rulebook?

p.70 "For example, a fast vehicule moving flat out on a road may move up to 24"

You mighgt wanna give this section a better look as it's an important part of the game.

I use the tip from the Apoc book. It recommends using masking tape as roads. They add an interesting aspect to games when used.

Oops, didn't think to check the fast vehicle section and I don't normally play with roads so don't know the rules off by heart, was just going off the basic rules for them which say they only affect cruising speed.
