George R. R. Martin has posted pics of the two latest greens in his blog here.
They're Ygritte the wilding spearwife, and Asha Greyjoy. I like both of these sculpts, particularly Asha. It's really nice to see a couple female miniatures that actually look feminine and don't just look like strippers with weapons.
A lot of this Dark Sword stuff would be perfect for Mordheim and other skirmish games, I think.

Haha, that's true, but the George R. R. Martin line is big enough now that you could put together a human mercenary warband completely with Dark Sword minis without much trouble. Then you'd just have to worry about it making your opponents warband look like hell.

That are some female models! GW, take a look at them, now! You don't expect a big nerd (no offense) to have such a high knowledge of females. Respect!

Very nice. Are these literally the only miniatures ever sculpted that look both feminine and aren't wearing a chainmail bikini?

I hope Arya and Needle turns out well, when they get around to it. Maybe they'll do another version of her too, for when she's training to be one of the Faceless Men.
Seriously though, I think this Asha Greyjoy mini is one of the few female models I've actually wanted to paint in a long time. I could feel good about having her on my shelf and painted, and not feel like some kind of pervert or creep whenever I have female guests.

I have to be honest, while I like many of dark sword minis, they are awefully fragile when it comes to the weapons. Very thin and hard to work with.
Even more delicate than some confrontation minis.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers... |

Is it because Dark Sword is a bit more "true scale" rather than heroic? Are the weapons too small to pin?

Don't forget there's supposed to be at least two books after Dance. But I'm looking forward to it too...hopefully we'll see something in 2009.

Not bloody likely. It took him almost 10 years to write the last one.....despite it being "almost done" for over 3 years of that time. I wouldn't expect anything till 2011. Heck he's said he's going to sit down, focus and finish this one since 2007. And it'll be interesting if he keeps the characters seperate in the next two or breaks it into 4. I can't see the series ending in just one more performance from everyone in westeros right now or Arya.

Yes, but I'd even take that ending over none.

I think the only thing we can be assured of when Martin finishes his books, is that the body-count will be massive. Otherwise, all bets are off. I can't wait.
