hey dakka...

i've got new lights, and i've been playin' with the settings on my camera...
might as well show off a few of the paintjobs from way back when...

first up is an old favorite for me, painted back in '03...
the Rackham dwarf steamcannon is so full of character...
it hurts me to think what the pre-paints will be like...
it's minis like these that make me glad to know that i still have a few shoeboxes worth of these minis to paint ...

next up is a kelt from Rackham...
i never did paint the big spasm warrior...
he's sat in a box somewhere...
ths guy is cool though, and reminds me of Brotherhood of the Wolf (great movie)...
this guy was painted in '03 as well, and was an experiment with my comic-book painting style...
the idea was to not mix any intermediate layers, and just layer straight from the pots...
it's a bit too stark...
live and learn...

this is another paintjob from the experimental phase...
i think i have my style down now, but i was way too abrupt with the highlights 6 years ago...
still, this is the coolest Kroot mini ever...
Angkor Prok, from Games Day '01, painted in '02...

somehow, the pics didn't work out as well on this guy, especially from the front...
he was a fun conversion, and my first try at urban camo...
another one painted in '03...
this was my first time painting battle damage as well...
inspired by the Cityfight Codex, the veteran Guardsman...

finally is an old Sallie, inspired by Codex Armageddon...
this guy was painted for the Amsterdam GW display case, way back in '01...
i would do a few things different with the flames these days, but i still love the way the green armour turned out...
i'm a big fan of the Alpha Legion shoulder pads for Sallies...
some people don't like it, but it works well, especially when your such a nerd that you have the old plastic chaos shoulder pad that matches...

thanks for lookin'...
i hope you enjoy seein' that we all have to practice and develop our styles, and do some work that won't hold up down the road, but it's a lot of fun along the way...

these guys are all bein' sold off...

I love that 'Kelt' model, comic book style or not, love the cloak. I also like your Kroot, but with those red/green/yellow beads etc I get the feeling he's going to bust into a rendition of 'no woman no cry' any second!

Cheers!

That green armour on the sallie is amazing! I can't get over how crisp and clean it looks. Amazing job!
