Anybody miss it? That bi-monthly mag of BL with about four to five short stories and a comic? Sure we've got anthology novels now, but that's not the best of ways to get noticed with BL these days.
Personally I fondly remember issue 27, which has the Eisenhorn story "Missing in Action" and the Last Chancers story "Liberty", which still strikes me as one of the best short stories ever written, if only because the protagonist who is a sly bastard and uses a spoon as a lethal weapon.

Bleh, that was a horrible comic, I much prefer Deff Skwadron myself.

I've got the collected Deff Skwadron somewhere. Love that I do!
But yeah, I do miss it quite a bit. I'd like to see it ressurected as an irregular anothology work. After all, I get the feeling Inferno! was originally a proving ground not just for BL as a business concern, but also for the writers. Always good to get random short stories as well.

Indeed, Inferno! was the thing to send your stories to and to get noticed. Nowadays you're required to write in to their anthology projects and out of the thousands that do one will be picked.

I think it would be good for the more 'out there' stories, the sort which don't really fit into an anthology easily.
Perhaps a war from the pov of an Imperial Citizen? That sort of thing.

It's indeed a missed thing. I liked the format, it was a bit like those pulp magazines with horrible art on the front but marvellous stories in there.
