Hey,
I'm putting the finish touches to my dark eldar army painting wise and I would appreciate some help on the list if possible.
I've tried playing with and without night shields and while expensive I do like them alot...
Dracon
Punisher, combat drugs, shadowfield, tormentor helm
2x5 wyches-2 blasters, raider with night shields
3xraider squads with splinter cannon, blaster, raider
3xraider squads with dark lance, blaster, raider with night shield
Ravager with 3xdark lance, night shield
2xravagers with 3 disintegrators each, night shield
I could swap perhaps 1 raider squad to upgrade the wychs to decent combat units rather than purely Dracon delievery but I'm worried about making them too killy really :/.

If your Dracon is rocking punisher + tormentor helm there is no reason not to spend the 15 pts for animus vitae. +1S and +1WS can be brutal....
I like my wyches to have a succubus with them, usually equiped with an agoniser. It actually makes them a CC threat, instead of a fancy speedbump.

Yeah I like wyches being a CC threat too, problem is I find they aren't very good at it, and end up pretty expensive :(.
Even 6 wyches with agoniser succubus with wych weapons is 50 points or so more expensive than what I run right now. Quite alot at 1500 points, generally I find they act as a nice bodyguard for the dracon right now or can stay onboard and just use their blasters on side armour/termies etc.
Animus vitae is indeed quite nice, where to drop the points .. hm :/.

If you can shave 2 Warriors off that's 16 points extra for Animus Vitae. I hear you about Wyches cost...I just hate sticking them in to Terminators or even sometimes MEQs without an agoniser there to up my kill total. Without it my wyches usually lose combat and break. So for me, I'd rather have the squad cost go up if I can get increased CC longevity. Edit: I also like Plasma Grenades on my wyches, since they are usually the ones charging.

Greetings,
I have to agree with SsevenN, Agonisers in your Wyches does tend to dramatically up their effectiveness. I can reasonably understand opting out of one in the squad your Dracon is in, but are you really just using the other squad as a Wych gunboat? An interesting idea I suppose though you're not using the Wyches to their true strength (though, on the flip side, it is your cheapest option for another Raider so...).
I'm a little curious about the Raider squads with blasters *and* Dark Lances. If you're using them as, I presume, sniper squads - how much functionality do you get out of the Blasters? I'm guessing that with the Night Shields and Lances either they are sitting in immobile Raiders and shooting, or you have them out of the Raider and shooting - in neither case does it seem like the Blasters would come into much play unless something rushed you and chose to stop within 12" or so and not manage to rapid-fire you to death.
Incidentally dropping the Blasters could afford you that Animus pretty handily.
Overall though I like the general thrust of the force as it's definitely fielding a nice pile of Raiders and Lances for its point size. I think your options for fending off assault units are limited as you lack anything to tarpit them with and only really have one squad capable of doing anything in assault (and that squad is whichever one the Dracon is in) So you're counting on your Raiders to stay intact, but hey, what's life in the DE without counting on your Raiders' 10 armor?
Regards,
Thor.

True the list is extremely fragile as I found quite often =P.
Assault units like berserkers etc are mostly delt with by having a raider/raider squad thrown in front of them..if they kill it then they end up all bunched for ravager plasma blast..if not then at least it slows them down =].
Super hard units like terminators, jetbikes, nob bikers etc are generally avoided as much as possible, possibly with the dracon going in to try and hold them up a turn if I think he can..I don't think anything in the DE list can hold against 6 assault termies with that vulcan reroll, they are silly hard..especially if null zone is on.
I've found blasters very handy infact..seems wierd but the option to sit back or still get that dark lance effect by zooming past to the side/rear of an incoming tank is nice. I wish I had the points for a few shredders though.
I may try and drop 1 raider unit to beef up the wyches. Animus vitae will also go in somehow =).

Well, the list looks quite reasonable.
Small Wych squads with blasters can whittle down a tougher unit like Termies or Nob Bikers.
I'd keep them.
True the list is extremely fragile as I found quite often =P.
In what situations?

Well I'm still a relatively new 40k player (only played for ~4 months this edition..used to play fantasy only) so making sure all my raiders are out of range or getting cover saves is being learnt slowly =P.
Also Imperial guard in general with alot of tanks put out mucho long range firepower and are quite tough to actually kill..especially those vendettas >_<.
I'm also trying to learn the art of not killing too much in close combat in my turn, but trying to break my opponent in his...I've lost so many wyches to destroying units in my turn >_<.

Against IG, its good to have first turn.
Otherwise, leave the army in reserve.
Vendettas can be easily stunned by dark matter shots. Use your guns to silence the enemy guns while your army advances.

Yeah thats true, I will probably try that more, problem is my friend likes to outflank/reserve his vendettas as well so he always gets at least a few shots with them which hurt =P.
