I have chosen trollbloods.

My girlfriend want to give hordes/warmachine a try. She usually prefers sci-fi models it seem like. She choose chaos space marines for 40k.

Can you play a hordes starter set against a warmachine starter set?

You can play both, but as said there are great differences in how focus / fury work. Read the rules of both carefully and you should be fine...

Other then that I hope you get your arse handed to ya (have to support the first race I played in Warmachine )

I probably will, she is the better wargammer and I am the better painter/converter.
