My friend who plays eldar was looking for a good (competitive) list I told him to get some Striking Scorpions and a Farseer and give him fortune and doom he thought it was great. So what you do is get a sqaud of Striking Scorpions extras don't matter any number of Scorpions in the squad would work but 10 is preferable give them a farseer with doom. This works because you charge up the middle of the battle field as a distraction because they can take massive amounts of fine and take little to no casualties because you get to re-roll all armour saves and Scorpions have 3+ save it's not terminator but with the re-roll it's actually better than terminator armour, and then when you get in range to assault you cast doom on them and then you get around 15-30 attacks that get to re-roll to wound on their opponent and have superior armour against what ever they assault. I worked it out in my head and I fear the day I have to face off with that monster mob.
Hope this was useful eldar players

This is hardly a new strategy. Try the same thing with pathfinders, it's much better. 2+ rerollable saves and rerollably sniper weapons means more 5's and 6's. Much more effective

Well, foot slogging is a slow way to die.
Even with rerollable armor saves, the Scorpions will die quickly if deployed in the middle of the battle field.
I'd mount the Scorpions in a Serpent and let them outflank the enemy.

And there's quite a bit that denies them their armor save.

Can scorpions take a transport and infiltrate and then outflank in the transport? Or better yet, just infiltrate in the transport?

While scouts can be used to scout a dedicated transport, infiltrate can not be used to infiltrate a dedicated transport.
However, either can be used to outflank, but only if the unit is embarked in the transport.

This is basically a cheaper version of the Seer Council, and one which is neither as resilient or killy. Wraithguard are also used in the role which you've described, and with their high toughness, they'll soak up even more fire power. Seer Council/Scorpions work better in a Wave Serpent though, as a Fortuned Wave Serpent is even harder to shoot down than those embarked inside, and it allows them to quickly get into CC where they can really shine.
But yeah, these strategies are all common and can most likely be found all over this website and others.

Scorpions do not belong to standard Eldar lists these days, since they are rather expensive and non-scoring.
Foot slogging is a slow way to die even if the foot slogging Scorpions are fortuned. I'd abandon these thoughts.

Its also kind of pointless to ouflank with the Dedicated as the scorpions wont be able to charge when it comes on the board.

I guess I'll have a shot at refuting these comments.

I agree that hoofing it across the battle field is generally not the best tactic these days, especially with fragile Eldar units. Wraithguard can pull it off with care, but that's a different kettle of fish. However, Scorpians are still an effective unit. Are you familar with the Banshee bomb? A unit of Banshees in a Wave Serpent, generally used in a mech list when you're playing against marines. They basically jump out and blitz a single critical unit. Scorpions can be used in the same role, but with better staying power and stronger anti-hoarde. The additional attacks and higher strength mostly make up for the lack of power weapons, though not against Terminators. With the addition of a Fortune/DoomSeer or Eldrad, they become the poor man's Seer Council, very useful for games of up to 1750 points.

Now I've never actually outflanked with a Wave Serpent before, but being able to move in Flat Out from an unexpected direction seems pretty useful for getting behind your opponents units or hitting up isolated squads. With mech assault units, you would usually take one turn to move in, and deploy/move/charge on the second, so nothing really changes there, right? Note that by taking the Inflitrate upgrade, you are in no way obliged to Inflitrate, to Outflank or even stay in reserve at all. Seems like a pretty handy option to have to me.

Yeah, commen tactic. In my eldar list I play banshees in falcon and a jetbike council. Very price but very effective.
Actually I never played with scorpions. Against hordes the scorpion rock but I think with all those MEQ armies around. Banshees are far more superior. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately... any CC unit in the Eldar list without fleet (or jetbike movement) is simply not going to be worth a damn.
