Me and my brother just cleared out our attic so we thought that it would be cool to put a gaming table in. We have made the tables and now are making the terrain. The terrain is mostly planetstrike orientated, bunkers, buildings, forts, barricades, tank traps and so on and so forth. Then we thought that it would be even cooler if we made some race specific terrain for regular gaming opponents and friends. This is the list of terrain we will be making. Probably in order of when we are going to make it.

-An Ork camp and fortifications
-Tyranid bio pods and other various fleshy bits and spore chimneys. No defensive for nids though.
-A ruined city, probably imperial.
-A chaos base with fortifications and buildings
-An imperial/ultramarines base with fortifications and buildings--might not happen, still thinking about this one.
-A chaos Iron Warriors citadel/fortress. A bit like Helms Deep but cooler.

The first projekt we will be working on in conjuction with my orky playing friend Connor, is the orky camp. It will consist probably of the following bits of terrain.

-Three watchtowers
-Three/Four ork buildings
-An ork fort on stilts
-A large ork fort on the ground
-A HUGE ork banner/watchtower for the middle of the ground fort.
-Some walkways and ladders

So far we have made the watchtowers and i've mucked around with an idea for the walkways, here is some pictures of the finished watchtowers and a walkway idea-






Just a little side note, I might not be able to update the blog with new stuff as frequently as most because of the aquisition of materials but i'll try and put some filler post's up with concepts and drawings, musings and i'll play around with the materials I currently have. Also, I wont just always put up pictures of the finished things, i'll put some WIP pics for the bigger projects and i'll put some WIP painting posts when I get down to it. Also, i'll put some pictures of the game room up in a bit.

Anyway, constructive critisism is encouraged and I hope to hear your opinions!

Those towers look pretty cool, any auto turrets/fixed firing positions for planet strike related stuff? Can't wait to see what you come up with for your other stuff.

I've just added some ladders to the watchtowers and I am going to modelzone today so the buildingg of the orky fort and wall and barricades can begin. I just need to add some rivets to the ladders and then they are finished. Also, I made a large walkway with some sprue and left over plasticard. Also, I have been blessed with good fortune in the donation front, a friend of mine gave me a heavy bolter and a lascannon form the IG heavy support sprue, any ideas for what I could use these for?

Remember, the orky fort is going to be in the style of a traditional fort/castle--four towers connected by walls with a big WWAAAGGGHHH banner in the centre.

Just been to modelzone and got a butload of plasticard, tubing and foamboard.

Here's how far i've got with the orky fort, still components now but i'm weathering the components before I stick them together. I've just realised how goddam huge this thing is. It's going to have a balcony running through the inside and as stated before, a huge WAARRRGGHHH banner in the middle. Anyone got any ideas about other things I could put in the middle instead of the banner? I'll still make the big banner but it'll be a bit of scenery instead.

Just a note on the last pic, this is to show how big the wall is compared to an ork boy, as I said, the fort is HUGE! Not as big as the Chaos fortress is gonna be though

Each tower is going to have a mounted gun on it and there is going to be a balcony running around the whole of the inside of the fort so orks can shoot out of it.

Just done some sketches for the ork buildings, some pics of the advancements of the fort coming soon...

Just a bit of notice, i'm not going to be able to update the thread for the next 4 weeks or so due to a holiday. Oh yea- The towers are really quite sturdy because I put filler in the holes in the floor and they are solid, I used ALOT of superglue and PVA!
