I've been talking with someone who's been attending the Big Waaagh recently and wondered about the putting up of a temporary forum each time one the major events like that, Ard Boyz, Adepticon and Grand Tournies were taking place, so all the results tables, army profiles, battle reports etc could be put into one area and we could get 'news coverage' on the events and results? When the event finishes, they could be taken down and stored as archive for view but no further comment?

Just a thought.

I'm not sure why a dedicated forum would be required instead of a couple of articles in the dakka wiki, or a stickied thread in one of the other forums? Articles would be the best match as then they would be archived forever instead of in fickle temporary forums.

well I considered that and then thought that Dakka could be the virtual host for these events, that things could be mirrored here and thereby promoted to the international viewers, youtube style posted battle reports, league tables, army profile walkthoughs. So perhaps if that was taken and worked on and expanded, it would warrant a larger space than a sticky in an existing forum. I have no idea of the work involved in something like this though and it was just a passing thought.

I'd certainly be interested in it myself, viewing leaderboards and commentaries, sort of like a sports channels type thing.
