This is my recently put together 750 Tau army. The main thing it lacks is railguns (which I unfortunately haven't purchased, and they don't carry them at my local GW store).

HQ:
Shas'el
-AFP
-Burst Cannon
-Shield Generator
-HW Multi Tracker

He should be pretty efficient at combating hoards.

Crisis Team:
Shas'ui
-Team Leader
-Missile Pod
-Fusion Blaster
-Target Array
-HW Multi Tracker
Shas'ui
-Missile Pod
-Fusion Blaster
-Target Array

Since I have no railguns, the Crisis Team is setup to combat light to heavy armored vehicles.

Fire Warrior Squad:
-Shas'la x11
-Shas'el x1
-Bonded

Fire Warrior Squad:
-Shas'la x11
-Shas'el x1
-Bonded
-Devilfish (MT, DP)

The Fire Warriors Teams should give plenty of fire support, and the devilfish should add mobility if needed.

Sniper Team

Sniper Team

The sniper teams will be the heavy support. I wont rely on the pinning by any means, but it should prove an extra bonus against hordes or IG.

Total: 746 (Gotta tweak the list a bit as to not waste the 4 points)

Thoughts?

At 750, you won't really need RGs ... or FBs. See below.

This last guy should have a MT instead of TA so he can fire both guns at once. If you really want them to both shoot better, have each one be his own unit, allowing for purchase of TAs each.

And at 750, I wouldn't bother with FBs. Use the FireKnife config and you'll bust up pretty much any transport.

Few goof-balls run Land Raiders under 1k.

Thanks for the advice

The reason I went with the FBs is because, outside of tournies (which I haven't played in YET), I play against IG all the time. The most common tactic I see is for the IG player to keep 2-3 tanks kept in reserve and then move them in to counter my army at convenient places on the board.

I try to counter this by deep striking a team of crisis suits (if I get lucky and they come in after his tanks) to take 'em out. The problem is, the armor is for the most part 14 front, 13 side, and the rear is always kept up against the edge of the "world".

Ah, Lemans. Yes, then you'll want FBs. I imagine you have several frisbees around. At under 50 points a unit, you might annoy him with Deep Striking Gun Drones behind those tanks ... if he leaves the slightest angle on rear armor. Otherwise, FB/MP suits. Perhaps Tl-FBs and flamers and the secondary gun for all those foot sloggers.

Without Railguns, it'll will be difficult to deal with Lemans without getting up close.
