I thought about saying this isn't about recasting at all but I think my explanation will well cover that.
I have been thinking about making an entire army from scratch so to speak. I want to train myself to sculpt 28mm (that is the size for
WH40k right? I may ask about this later) miniatures for use mainly in
WH40k. What I really want to know is exactly what I would have to do in order to be able to play with as many people as possible, while maintaining my own style of army entirely. This project could be seen as a practice run for what I hope to do professionally in the long run. I actually respect the
GW design and build team, although I do not know who that would specifically entail (or how to say their official name for that matter

) and I would like to challenge myself by attempting to step in line with their general dynamic while maintaining an obvious separation between my designs and theirs.
So this is sounding complicated now, but I think I got the point across pretty clearly. I am not trying to build some rag-tag force with niche appeal, I want a serious bat to fight (so to speak) aesthetically with any other
WH40k GW army. I like the fact that
WH40k has some very consistent design work, I would argue that it is a bit willy-nilly and the whole concept is held together by fluff alone. No need to go too much into what I mean there.
The Fremen army that was just put up on DakkaDakka has actually inspired me to think seriously about what I intend to do with this idea. It is slightly vague, but the concept is very solid, and I would like to hear what DakkaDakka has to say about it.
I have a goal to take this to a
GW tournament, but I seriously doubt that could be possible. No codex involved
BTW, it will be used for "counts as" Eldar most likely.
