Right, I like a busy morning. As a Cab Driver, a busy morning puts cash in my pocket and a smile on my face, keeping me happy throughout the day.
And this morning is hella busy. Only two cars in town, and crapload of jobs around the town. So why am I sat on Dakka?
Because control, in their infinite wisdom have told the guy I share with to stay out an extra hour or so, rather than drop the car off to me. Thats right. The night driver is getting all my morning jobs.
So, I am meant to earn my crust today how exactly? By the time I get the Car, the others will be out, meaning I'll be in a queue of 8 or more. Tossers.
Seriously, they had better sort me out a couple of Heathrows today. Arseholed if this is happening without some form of compensation from control.
Oh, and if I see one more Maidstone car dropping people with luggage off in Tunbridge Wells (I work in the latter) it's not so much a case of broken legs, as legs snapped off and stuffed into bodily cavities.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just phoned control to see what they'll do for me, and the tosspot who made the decision clocks off at 7, so I have to call back then. If I'm still sat here at that point, and not on the road, I shall be EXTREMELY pissed off.

This is stupid. Should of been on the road 40 minutes ago. Takes me 20 minutes to get the other driver back to his. Time is ticking away. My earning potential today is being pissed up the wall. And the fether who made all this possible really, really didn't care.

It used to always piss me off when I worked in the restaurant business that The boss always bitched and moaned about how long it took for us to get everything cleaned up at the end of the night, even though we only made $8 an hour. fething community college jackoff never actually did our jobs, how would he know? Nothing worse than being bossed around by someone who never demonstrated the capacity to do your job. His job, on the other hand is easy, just be an donkey-cave to everyone and take the credit for their work.

Oh it's worse than that. The knobend on the end of the phone is salaried. I am not. If I want to earn money, it's buns on seat and keep going until I've made my money. So that arsehat stopping me going out means I am *losing* money today.
Right. It's 7 O'clock. Fingers crossed whoever is taking over isn't a buttmunch and will actually give two hoots that I'm being screwed right now.
Just called again. The Controller is now meant to be calling me back, which is nice as I no longer have to spend my money on phonecalls. Seriously fething livid right now. At this rate, I won't get out and booked on, thus ready for work, until 7:30, and thats if the other driver turns up in the next three seconds. Which isn't going to happen.

Cast thy eye towards other taxi firms... or consider a bank loan and go self employed? Certainly raise stink about this though in a letter to the boss.
I agree with MeanGreen on this one, I would be furious if someone did this to me.
I've not driven a cab before, but I have experienced things similar to this in the construction industry. People screw each other quite a lot, and I dare say that the workers/laborers are the ones on the short end of the stick on this one.
It would be good idea to look around for a new taxi firm, lest ye freak out and land a solid one in someones nose, though I wouldn't blame you one bit. It is practically stealing, and not only that it is stealing in a way that is totally insane and unfair.
