That just got me all excited about a sports game.

Well, kind of excited. It's an awful lot like football, for all that I get to be giant, scaly lizards.

Gotta love the lizardman football helmet! If it comes out for PC I'm most definitely getting it.

I think I saw it for PC. Have not seen it for wii, ps3 or xbox...

What're you talking about? It IS out. I'm playing it RIGHT NOW, at work. I've had it for about a week-and-a-half now. I have You can buy it from their website. You get a game key and player code in an email. The game is downloaded in 4 parts; an installer/updater and 3 install file sets.

For those interested, the 'Classic' option for games is basically an EXACT, faithful recreation of the board game. Plus some. They've added new skills to the trees. Defensive skills. all I'm gonna say is "Fend, Grab, and Wrestle". All of the races are not yet present. You get:
1) Dwarfs
2) Humans
3) Orcs
4) Lizardmen
5) Wood Elves
6) Skaven
7) Goblins
8) Chaos

Goblins get the Pogo Sticks, Fanatics, AND Chainsaws!!!!!


I haven't played online yet, but the game is fantastic. There's some goofyness yet, but most of it is cosmetic. Cosmetic and a tad personal annoyance. Some examples:
The announcers are funny at first, but they have a VERY limited script of things that they say, so they get tiresome pretty fast. There's also a soundbyte that seems to be two different clips that got accidently mixed together and it just sounds messed up.

EVERY kickoff there's an event. Something happens.

The chat box is annoying for several reasons; A) it's huge, B) it is unconfigureable, C) it can't be turned off. The most annoying thing about the chat box, though, is that the PC chats to you during the game. I suppose it may be a "lost in translation" effect, but some of the things it says just don't make any sense at all. things like, "You're better off looking for your hanky".

They always put spaces between ending sentences and punctuation. Ex: We have a great game here ! This will be awesome ! <--- This just irks me.

There's some little sayings they display while your games load. They're supposed to be humorous and in the feel of Blood Bowl, but some of them are really stupid.

Loading times are REALLY long.


Like I said, most of these are mere cosmetic issues. As far as gameplay goes, it's just about spot on (although, I think some of those Gutter Runner dodge rolls are suspect... -.- )

Its only out for PC at the moment. Xbox, DS etc come out end of september.

That game seriously looks cool. Im not a sports fan at all, but that does make me want it. Im buying a nice badass computer next tax season, so I might just pick that one up lol

I'm also playing this game on PC and loving it. So far I've played the most with my Dwarf team in a blitz mode campaign. Love the special characters and bringing guys all the way from the bottom to the top while worrying about their injuries, age and experience. This game is must for those who like the original blood bowl and would like to play it more often without needing other fleshies around to play with. For everyone else I'd say its worth taking a look at. Brings me back to the old NES days of playing Mutant Football/Hockey. Those games were great back in the day, but this one is leaps and bounds above them. More features, more strategy, can be played in real time or turn based mode, ect. Loading times for me are short (but I just built a new iCore7 rig so that could be why ). Haven't encountered any bugs or crashes yet, but I do second the comment about the announcers voices eventually becoming repetetive. Luckly you can just turn them off in the sounds options when you feel like it.

Check it out. Good game all around.

Oh and one note, an event does not happen every kick off, but if both teams have multiple cheerleaders then yes its pretty much gaurenteed something will happen.

Just a quick reminder for those in the UK who may not already have this game, it will be touching down in the UK on September 18th for PC, PSP and DS with the Xbox 360 release to follow at a later date...that's the one I'm waiting for!

It's a fun game. I love how faithful the classic mode is to the boardgame. Really good job. I love that I can pause and save my bloodbowl campaign as much as I want and come back to it later. Helps scratch that itch, when I don't have the time to play the boardgame proper. There is some pretty tough online competition. It's like signing on to play starcraft online. Prepare to be humbled.

The only thing I miss are the weather effects. Maybe someday they could give us a patch or expansion with that, more races and assistant coaches. That would be even more awesome. I recommend it to anyone who likes the boardgame. Yuo won't be disappointed.

That means you shouldn't waste your time playing, because your going to end up crying in the end. Stupid, but it makes sense.

Don't forget that Blood Bowl is out in the UK tomorrow for PSP, Nintendo DS and PC.
The Xbox360 version is set to be available in November

Wait, November? Amazon says the 360 version will hit shelves on the 25th.
