Hey there, these are my Tyranid Spore blobs, to be used as Terrain on a world in the latter stages of a Tyranid invasion. Homemade from stuff available at your local hardware store.
Comments welcome. In fact sought after.
Keep it friendly though please.
I do need to re-drybrush the bases. Should have used a different brush I guess.

As big amorphous blobs, they're nice (and nicely painted), would also make good Nurgle terrain. I'd like them to have more detail added, e.g. waving tentacles or seed orifices or whatever.

I'm not keen on how they just sit on their bases, I'd prefer something to indicate what they are, e.g. if they're bursting up from above then show broken ground around them, or if they're some kind of beasties which slowly roll around absorbing genetic material then show bits of corpses and skeletons beneath them? Something like that will make the bases look more interesting, and the whole things look more Tyranidish.

Hope that's some help.

By the way, what are the blobs made from?

Cheers dude. I'm not totally sure what they are supposed to be. Some kind of genetic absorbing material as you suggested sounds about best or perhaps some alien flora type stuff. Maybe even some kind of genetic waste that has rained down off a Hive ship. I do like the idea of sticking bit's of dead people/things to them though. I might give that a go.
Your comments are most welcome dude.
They are made from window expanding foam. Do you know the stuff? When you have new windows put in a house you spray this foam in that expands & fills the gaps. These were the excess bit's I cut off when it was dry. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.

You could also each one the core of a sprouting spore chimney in early development. Little bit of GS to add some chitin starting to form on one side, or on 3 or 4 corners, and you could have some mean looking "Early Infestation" terrain

We have a winner!
Metallifan!
That is the one. It is as suggested. The green stuff is being mixed as we speak.

One thing I always liked as Tyranid terrain are dried lotus seed pods. They make excelent broodnest like terrain when painted slimey.
