Hey, i was wondering if any body could tell me how to get my space wolves the same colour as the GW ones, prefebly a simple way. My wolves are grey atm but i want to be able to paint the light blue-ish colour for when the new wolves are realised.

Thanks.

1.) apply more.
2.) Put a dot of blue up in there.

get yourself some foundation Fenris Grey (2 if like me you decide to use it as the base color) another pot of space wolves gray and two spare pots.

Now poor one fenris grey pot and one space wolves grey into a plastic cup (or other suitable container) and mix them up, poor the new colour into your 2 spare pots and hey presto, you have a nice colour for your wolves.

Base fenris grey
paint on your mix leaving only the recesses showing fenris grey.
you could at this point just higlight with space wolves grey, but you can first mix up a 1:1 mix of space wolves grey and the custom colour to blend up to the final higlight for a smoother transition.

Get a larger paint pot...you can find them at most art stores and Michaels. pour in a whole pot of shadow grey, and about 3/4ths or so of space wolves grey.

Fenris grey is too thick and will clog the detail.

Enjoy!

Classic space wolves were Space Wolf Grey base coat, Shadow Grey shadows, and Skull White/Space Wolf Grey highlights.

thats how I paint mine, but thats because Ive been playing since that was "just how you painted Space Wolves."

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

Ive tried basing and mixing yet my colours never come out quite how i want them to. always either to light or to dark.
if not then there completely blue/grey/other.

Im going for a lost company style of army. yet i was thinking on just using the almost white space wolves grey. didnt work at all looks like ragnar from the sons of fenris book.

Hi, I did mine as follows:

Basecoat- shadow grey
Maincoat- 50:50 shadow grey:space wolf grey
Recesses- devlan mud
Highlight- space wolf grey

I premix the shadowgrey:space wolf grey in an empty pot with a few drops of water and a good shake, so I have enough to paint several models consistantly.
