We had a query come up in a Nid vs. demons game last night, several actually but this one is important. Now both of us are familiar with the rules but not rules machines and somewhat rusty for V5. We’re hoping the answer is right in front of us, but its come up twice. Your help would be appreciated in clarifying this. Please view in both and RAI and RAW if needed.

In the example we had two defending squads-both fearless- and several attacking squads all locked together. Defending Squad A suffers 4 unsaved wounds and inflicts 3 unsaved wounds (1 net). Defending squad B suffers 5 unsaved wounds and inflicts 3 unsaved wounds (2 net). Utilizing the Fearless rule wherein they don’t break but take savable wounds, does Squad A have to save against 1 wound under the Fearless rule, or 3? We played 1 but were uncertain.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

Each unit on the losing side takes a number of wounds based on the amount the entire side lost by. In your example, each Fealess unit will take three No Retreat wounds.
