So after seeing the new scenarios I might be switching from my guard to something else. I was thinking of this list though I haven't practiced it yet:

Pedro-175
(rides w/Terminators)

10 Sternguard-355
2 Combi-Flamers, 2 Combi-Plasma, 4 Combi-Melta, 1 Lightning Claws, Drop Pod or Rhino (not sure which I prefer yet)

10 Sternguard-355
2 Combi-Flamers, 2 Combi-Plasma, 4 Combi-Melta, 1 Lightning Claws, Drop Pod or Rhino (not sure which I prefer yet)

5 Assault Terminators w/Dedicated Crusader-460
4 TH/SS, 1 LC, Crusader has MM

10 Tactical Marines-230
MM, Melta, PF, Rhino

10 Tactical Marines-280
PC, Melta, PF, Razorback w/Assault Cannons

2 Landspeeders-180
2xTyphoon Launchers

2 Attack Bikes-100
2xMM

Vindicator-125

Predator-120
Lascannon Sponsons

Predator-120
Lascannon Sponsons

2495

This army minimizes KP's on the first mission while still leaving me with more than enough scoring units on the follow up missions. It takes advantage of the short range fire fight and combats of the second scenario while plays excellently in a king of the hill match like the third due to tons of support units. 10 Armored Vehicles w/4 of them being AV13 or higher to the front also spreads around the Armor Killing.

What do you guys think?

I saw lists like these in the first round that didnt qualified hulksmash and im more afraid of your IG tabling me in the first match then actually winning against me by kill points with this list. I would get in some games in and see what works better for you with the new scenarios.

Actually against that all Jump Pack army i'd back this to the hilt. This army can kill a lot of marines per turn and then hit back just as hard as you in CC. Where I see this army having trouble is against well played Tau and Eldar. Vulcan marines could hurt to since we've got the same weapons but theirs are TL'd while I just have an extra attack. It's just more balanced and doesn't rely on shooting nearly as much as the IG army I might run.

Can you test it out before the tournament and tell us how that lists does? Im trying to get some games in with mine against vulkan marines but i cant seem to get my friend into the store to play.

I would consider dropping all the powerfists. They really aren't worth it. I would also downgrade all my predators to AC/HB preds. And drop the attack bikes. Then I would use all the extra points to invest in more speeder squadrons. Either the flamer/mm kind or the typhoon ones.

The Predators are to help pop enemy medium and light tanks at range. The powerfists are there to help out in combats and slightly tip the balance in my favor as well as make it possible to hurt big MC's or insta-kill crisis suits. I actually prefer attack bikes to speeders since I can always shoot with them and they are cheaper than the HF/MM speeders.

You have good points but except for the power fists (which I'm still iffy on) the other changes you mentioned actually hurt the way the list functions as a whole.

love to see a SM list with out a LR spam. to meny people think if you toss in 3 or 4 LR in your list you cant loose.

i realy dont like MM in tac squads, ive found the spend to much time wating on the tanks to come to them.

love the PF i think every tac and stern squad should have one. a 5 man squad with a PF in the middle is just as powerfull as a carnifex in CC.

i would drop the LC on the stern, its kind of out of place and wont realy make that big of a dent in CC.

i would also think about taking some of those combis out as well, i dont think the plasma will be shot as much as you think is will, flamers are real nice to have in a pinch and i think 3 melta will get the job done. and ive seen them played both in rinos and in DP well. but one thing to remember is if you roll drop pods you may want to buy a random 3ed so you can get both of stern in on turn 1 (poping the center peace of an army before the guy across the table gets to move it is always a good start)

MM land speeders are always very powerfull for the point cost.

one more point how do you plan on handling a hord army? i dont know if your AC razorback and crusader are realy going to be able to handle it.

just my 2 cents, i like this army alot i think it do well in all 3 rounds . just watch out for the stupid cracked lists out there

Alright so I've actually editted the list a bit and made a few slight changes:

Pedro-175
(rides w/Terminators)

10 Sternguard-340
2 Combi-Flamers, 4 Combi-Melta, PF, Drop Pod or Rhino (not sure which I prefer yet)

10 Sternguard-340
2 Combi-Flamers, 4 Combi-Melta, PF, Drop Pod or Rhino (not sure which I prefer yet)

6 Assault Terminators w/Dedicated Redeemer-490
5 TH/SS, 1 LC, Redeemer has MM

10 Tactical Marines-230
MM, Melta, PF, Rhino

10 Tactical Marines-285
LC, Melta, PF, Razorback w/Assault Cannons

2 Landspeeders-180
2xTyphoon Launchers

2 Attack Bikes-100
2xMM

Vindicator-125

Predator-120
Lascannon Sponsons

Predator-120
Lascannon Sponsons

2500

I swapped out the lightning claws for powerfists on my Sternguard, dropped the combi-plasma and upgraded the plasma cannon to a lascannon. I switched out the Crusader for a Redeemer since it's a little cheaper and I like St6 AP3 flamers. Added a 6th terminator to round out the squad. The Multi-Melta in the tactical squad is for the unit that advances and holds the closer objective so it should be in range rather early.

looking good, the redeemer is a double edge blade. yea the flamers kill everything but if you get stoped in half way down the field thay realy are worthless. dont get me wrong i play a redeemer, just keep in mind every thing on the field will try and kill it turn 1 or 2. oh and see if you have the pts. for the PM MM, its a realy cheep tank buster and alot of the time gets more action then the flamers.

IMO, Heavy Flamers are more likely to put the hurt on the foe on those Sternguard. I'd drop the AssCan on the RB.
