I'm wondering if anyone has seen some type of a wolf head offered by a company that would fit decently atop a standard infantry model (SM, IG etc...) Have some ideas for a conversion and my search hasn't found anything yet, so hopefully somebody may have seen something out on the web.

Fixed that for you BIG TIME. DW heads way too large!

Fixed that for YOU aswell. I just realised that dire wolves heads are pretty big in proportion to space marine helmets.

Cheers,

Jack.

There's allegedly a wolf helmet on the new Space Wolves sprue. Just wait for it to come out in October.

Alternately, there's a Space Wolves captain in the collector's range with a wolf helmet. You could make a mold of that and cast it if you were feeling ballsy.

if you could find some of the models for the lost space wolf company that was from eye of terror. I forget what they were called, but they were basically werewolves in power armor.

@xcom85 Yea your talking about the Wulfen models. Those aren't bad, but what I'm really looking for is an actual 'wolf' head. I saw a pic someplace of a space wolf with that type of head, but I'm not sure if it was a conversion or not. A look through the GW collector's item didn't dhow anything special.

Maybe I'll just have to see about getting a sculpt and cast done. I don't think anything really exists for what I'm looking for.

I have a model NIB, and it's very 'second editiony' - if you know what I mean.

Oh yea that is the model! 2nd editiony huh? I assume you mean it's all one hunk of metal and so getting the head off on its own would be practically impossible?

Use a jeweler's saw and you should be able to hack it off at the neck. Depending on what you do with it, you may need to do a little greenstuff work - I think like a lot of 2ed models, the chin and right cheek are resting on the shoulder pad.

Yeah, it's a 2-d lump of metal, that is more cartoony in appearance.

I atcually used wolf heads for all my bloodletters and they worked out fine.

But a cheaper idea and mayhaps slightly small head might be giat rats. They loo dog like and you could put some greenstuff fur patterns on the snout with minimal effort (visualize these with grey muzzles)

And build the ears up to a pointed tip.

Good idea ... I never would have considered rat heads !!

I'm also happy to hear that there may be a Wolf Helmet on the new Space Wolf sprue(s) in October.
