so you're takin' pics under lights when you should be out enjoyin' the midnight sun, huh...
you seem to have captured the metals well, especially in the first pic...
the only problem is the angle you took the picture at...
if your camera was down a little lower, and off to the right a bit (with the main focus on the face) you should have less blur on the sword...right now it's playin' with your depth of field by bein' closer to the camera than the jack...
from your angle, you will either get a sharp sword and a blurry jack, or what you got, a sharp jack and a blurry sword...
on the second pic you need to straighten your background, obviously, and move the light a bit further away from the jack...
it's reflectin' hard off the engine...
you can always zoom in and crop the pic later in paint or photoshop...
it's a tough learnin' curve...
i have taken hundreds of pics this last year, tryin' to learn, and have yet to snap a gem...
if i didn't have thick locks, i'd have pulled my hair out by now...
