Here is mah Chaos Daemons army for WHFB. Bloodthirster is ultraforge. The horrors are converted from crypt ghouls, the fleshhounds are made dire hounds or something from vampire counts. C&C go go

Some nice models there mate. Slightly more attention to facial details would make a large difference though.

Cheers,

Jack.

Looks good but if i were you i'd redo the horns nails and bones. Start of with a yellow or a brown and blend it up by adding a but of bleach bone each time to highlight finishing with straight bleach bone. It's too clean looking to be a dirty bloody army. If you do that it'll vastly make your models look better straight away. One more suggestion would be doing a highlight to the big dude's armour perhaps and think about making some washes. If you use the base colour you started with and some chaos black aaaand a touch of 'ard coat (to help the homemade wash spread and settle better) and water it down to the right strength and you'll be laughing

..... Thats what ive been saying... Also I just noticed ALOT of unpainted areas on most of the models that you cant seem to see well in person (I know... I took zee pictures!) You should touch those up... I just thought of something too, on the blue peoples of castyness that i ever so hate to fight, try to blend the blue and orange, that would look epic.

Hmmmm I would say mechrite red before scab red... Scab red doesnt seem to go on too well with a foundation before it...

Nice models here, i especially like the attention to the bases, brings more of the chaos element out of them

The base coat on the khorne guys are just a regular red acrylic paint with some black in it. (I know it's cheap but its all I have right now)

Now that you mention it the horns do look too clean, the armor on the big guy is going to get a was and highlights too. That will be my painting project for the week .

if i were you if i'd use black and a little bit of water and do 1-2 layers depending how much water to added. I'd never stoop to using non GW paints >_< Especially on my center piece models. Gee you must be eager to paint on a low budget

You could also bring the robs n such on the big guy up to a bleached bone because atm the brown is a brown that looks like the gold.

Also next time you take some pictures use more lights on them so it brings out more detail and so i don't critic something that is actually there but i can't see it

But good luck with the horns n such

It's probly just me but regular colors like red, black, blue, ect. you can buy at a lower price in higher quantities. From ther I can usually simulate gw paint colors from there. Although I find cheap metallic paint and washes doesn't cover twice as good as gw painting products so thats usually the gw paints i buy. I can see the trouble though (quality over quantity debate).

@studderingdave- YA someone noticed!

I am saying this from experience before foundation paints came out. For my Blood Ravens ( hopefully if I can get a camera to take decent photos I will put them up) I used this with another coat of red gore. I would use scab red as it gives a duller tone to the overall colour making it look more natural
