Use this as your sounding board for stupid gak you have thought of and then disregarded because you were not sure it would work.

Spaec Merines

Should I purchase 3 redeemers only to put 3 ten man scout squads in them?

Can I purchase a Techmarine from elites and put him in my Thunderfire squad.

I really want to just run 3 Thunderfires and all scouts I dont know why.

Eldar

I really want to take 18 singing spears and 50 jetbikes with a seer council DAMN THE COST IT WOULD BE AWESOME.

Those are my so far slowed ideas that I immediately dismissed.

Oh and taking 60 Raptors OH GOD THIS IS SO EXPENSIVE.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

At 2500 could i run 4 assault termies with 4 landraider crusaders? I think i can, but is that a powerlist?

No, you could run 2 squads of terminators, one assault one traditional, each with a land raider, and then 3 in HS.

Xav: Minimum 1840 points, 20 models. I think it might be too much of a good thing, if that makes sense. They are awesome at what they do, but a little one dimensional. If someone has decent anti-tank, you will not be having fun.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

That looks like a old school Tyranid List.

I would not go with more than 150 Gaunts max.

Thats a good range.

You could do the old school, Thousand of little guys Oh and Here are some Carnifexes.

Wee, perfect, a third place to post this list:
Mek w Shokk Attack Gun - 100 pts
Mek w Shokk Attack Gun - 100 pts

10 lootas - 150 pts
10 lootas - 150 pts

19 grots w runtherd - 67 pts

5 Deffkoptas w Bigbomms, TL Rokkits - 300 pts
5 Deffkoptas w Bigbomms, TL Rokkits - 300 pts
5 Deffkoptas w Bigbomms, TL Rokkits - 300 pts

Looted Wagon w Boomgun - 105 pts
Looted Wagon w Boomgun - 105 pts
Looted Wagon w Boomgun - 105 pts

= 1849

Turboboost all deffkoptas in the scout phase, then turboboost them across the opposing army if they are infantry and drop 15 S4 AP5 Large Blasts (unless you are facing mech, in which case you move, shoot, maybe assault).
Then drop 3 x S8 large blasts and 2x S2d6 large blasts.
Follow it up with between 20 and 60 S7 shots from the lootas.
Put either the grots or the lootas infront of the Looted Wagons' so that they can't move more than an inch or two if they happen to roll a 1 for "don't press dat!".

I almost think running into the above "200 guardsmen" list and getting first turn would make creating this list worth it.. Even though I know this list isn't very good and doesn't work very well if you don't get first turn, it's tempting. So very, very orky.

Anyway, a question - if I put a unit right infront of my looted wagon, and it rolls a 1 for "don't press dat", am I right in thinking that it can't move (can't move friendly units) and that I can still shoot?

Also, Hollimason, I don't think you can take more than 15 shining spears. It would look amazing on the table tho - seer council leading 3 shining spear squads leading a bunch of jetbikes),

Argh you are right their 3-5 Regardless I really want to play the following list. That Mek List looks cool and should work.

Farseer w/
Doom, Fortune, singing spear, jetbike, seer stones, 158

Farseer w/
Fortune, runes of warding, jetbike, Singing Spear 128

Troops
9 Man Guardian Jetbike w/ 3 Shuri w/ Warlock w/ Conceal w/ singing spear 293

9 man Guard Jetbike w/ 3 Shuri w/ Warlock w/ conceal w/ singing Spear 293

9 man Guard Jetbike w/ 3 Shuri w/ Warlock w/ Conceal w/ Singing Spear 293

Fast Attack

5 Man Shining Spear w/ Exarch w/ Star Lance , Withdraw 227

5 Man Shining Spear w/ Exarch w/ Star Lance , Withdraw 227

5 Man Shining Spear w/ Exarch w/ Star Lance , Withdraw 227

1846 points.

If I shot for 2000 I could add more, but regardless I want to play with 15 Singing Spears. I really like the models Argh so expensive though.

Yeah I feel you, the shining spears look so sweet. It's too bad they are so universally reviled (probably for good reason).

At least they come in 3 bike boxes unlike the regular jetbikes

Hmm, fo rsome reason I can't think of any at the moment, but I have LOTS. I will post again because I like the idea of being able to air them out without being made fun of for it

Here's one for now...
How in the world do you finish a 2000 point game in under 2 hours (for a tournament, for example). I'm going to my first one next weekend, and I'm petrified, because I never finish that size of game under 3 1/2 or 4 hours...

I know that's a slightly different vein of question, but it is one I was always afraid to ask

Plan well, don't bitch about rules disputes and have your dice preportioned to roll in the event of a full attack.

Yah know i had a problem with this untill my first tourney then i see that i was just being paranoid and mostly game managers plan for the games to go fast and make the game types and such to compliment this
