So i've decided nows as good a time as any to make one of these, it'll let me show off stuff i've been working on (and hopefully motivate me to paint more often)

i'll start off with some of my orks. I've shooting towards having a kult of speed type list eventually, possibly because i like the color red.

and here are the deffcopta's, these models bug me, they seem to fall over and get damaged if you look at them to hard





for my orks, i'm just doing a simpe base, using dirt from the mountains around where i live

Those look great. Red ones will definitely go faster!

Did you paint the bases or is it just straight up dirt ? it looks good either way.

bases are just straight up dirt (the soil here has iron or something in it i guess, i've hit pockets that have been some rather interesting reds)- the soil did darken a bit after i let it soak up some glue

Now for some of my Cygnar-i still need to clean the edges of the bases, and add some greenery, to help change things up from my ork bases

Some nice paintjobs here man. The only thing that could be done is clean-up the sand around the sides of the bases.

Your Orks look pretty good! I think the boss might need a highlight or a wash in some spots. Other then that tho, very good work!

at some point between a basing and dull coat, my boss seems to have lost a bit of something, I plan to touch him up when i start painting orks again.

as for the bases, i mainly just need to wipe them down to clean them up, i just hadn't yet when i ok the pics (my camera batteries were about to die, so i was rushing a touch)

finally got around to painting my trukk, after it sat around primed but otherwise untouched for a good couple of months- still need to dirty up the tires a bit and get the driver and gunner back on

i really like the brass and red look of the trukk.. i might be doing on like it soon lol..

i dont have a way to upload-but I took a hotrod model and used its engine in my ork truck-has long extended pipes, header and is all chromed out.

finally got around to painting part of a mob, probably get to the rest after i finish my stormboys

my weirdboy, picked him up more cause i like the model then for plans to use him in game....though i will eventually......bah, gotta get a better shot of him when i have camera batteries.





and here we have my stormboys, i rather like how they came out for the most part, not sure when i'll get to increase the mob to a proper size though

btw how do you make sure the dirt stick?
and they are dirt in the play ground?

as for how i get it to stick, i mix elmers glue with water til i get it to a consistency i can apply with an old brush, i coat where i want the dirt, and then set them in a container of the soil, digging the base in a bit til it gets covered.
After that, i tap the base a few times to get a bit of the loose soil off.
finally, i take another thing of glue, watered down a bit more and apply it lightly over top the dirt, so that it will soak in, this hardens it up enough that i don't have to worry about it coming off (it also darkens the overall color of the dirt somewhat)

picked this kit up a few days ago when i was out getting some odds and ends, and while i was a bit sad a few of the guys are a single piece, overall i liked the variety of heads, and painting up the squig was an interesting first

That being said, your burna boyz look really good. Im guessing your going to use the loota guns to make a loota squad with regular boyz? That too is my plan, or in vise versa.
Also your REALLY weird kans.... are pretty damn cool. The paint job is meh, but the concept and such of the mini itself is just awesome. Very original.

yea, the loota guns got used with some regular boys, and then traded off for i don't even remember what.
as for the kans, i'll eventually get around to getting the paintjobs up to par with the rest of the force, and they look a bit better in person

finished up a few more cygnar models, waiting to base them til i have a decent number to do all at once

my second hunter, which i think turned out a bit better then the first one that i originally tested my color scheme on
