Pretty much just wondering what gets to assault when they deepstrike?

Chaos Terminators?
Chaos Raptors?
Space Marine Assault Squads?
Chaos Demons (From Chaos Demons Codex)?

Everything. Jump infantry because it specifically says so in the planetstrike books, terminators because their armor gives them the deep strike rule, and chaos daemons for the same reason as jump infantry, their unit type gives them the ability.

Some people have said all jump infantry get to assault.

But from the wording* it must have deep strike in the codex. Space marine Jump packs for example are listed as Models that are equipped are able to DS. Where as Warp spiders must purchase the Exarch power "Surprise Assault" in order to be able to assault.

Hope that's some help.

From the RAW on planetstrike they chose a particularly awkward wording, unless the unit entry says that they can deepstrike then they cannot assault. That would mean technically that almost nothing can assault, since almost nothing has the deepstrike rule in listed in their entry. Fortunately we have two things helping us here. The first is thet planetstrike is a loose rules suplement, which in the GW universe means that in order to be played it has to be used with a very loose hand rather like apoc. secondly, they then go on to claim that space marine assault squads meet the criteria to assault.

Since the marine rules entry only mentions that they have jump packs, this lets us know that GW is being VERY loose in what they mean by the deepstrike in the units entry part of the rule. It appears that if the unit can deepstrike on its own (without any vehicle) then it can then assault.

Since planetstrike overall has to be an agreement between two players to even be attempted, just make certain before the game that both players agree on this rule.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).

If you look at Jump Infantry, for example Space Marine Assault Squads (the example in the PS book) they do not say in their profile they can Deep Strike. They receive this ability because they are Jump Infantry. This is common knowledge. Checking the JI rules, however, does not give them a rule called 'Deep Strike' just the ability to use the DS rules. This is no different to Daemons. Page 13 of the Planetstrike book states "a Space Marine Assault Squad could both shoot its bolt pistols and launch an assault the turn it enters play."

Not true they have it because the rules for jump packs in the SM codex states "Models equiped with jump packs are jump infantry, as described in the warhammer 40,000 rulebook. In addition, Space Marines wearing jump packs can be dropped from low-flying Thunderhawk Gunships, using their jump packs to swoop down on to the battlefield. To represent this they can be kept in reserve and arrive using the deepstrike rules (see the mission Special Rules section of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook)." Page100 Codex Space Marine.

So in order for any model to deepstrike it needs the rule in its entry. SM jump packs are in their entry so they can deep strike.

Why else include a redundant rule already part Jump infantry?
