I thought I'd ask the forums for some clarification on a handful of rules I'm not too clear on. Please respond to questions using their number so we can keep things clear. I'm sure other new guys may have the same questions I do so hopefull others will benefit from this thread as well. Feel free to add your own questions.
1. Attacking with two weapons: My Shas'el has 3 attacks, and two weapons. When I make an attack, do I attack all three times at once? Ie: I use weapons 1 and 2 at the same time, then chose to get one more attack for either weapon 1 or 2? or does this mean I pick one weapon and roll three dice for it?
2. Tau Multitrackers: I'm not quite sure how these work. It says I may use two different weapons in the same turn. Does this mean normally a player would have to chose what weapon they are attacking with regardless of a model having multiple attacks? In other words, are you restricted to declaring and using one particular weapon during the offensive phases of each turn? Would the following example be correct? "I have a plasma rifle and a burst cannon and the model has 3 attacks. Despite having 3 attacks, I must chose either the plasma rifle or the burst cannon to make all 3 attacks with, unless I have a multiracker, in which case I may say I'm making 2 attacks with the rifle, and one with the cannon."
3. Multiple attacks in conjunction with "Weapon Type #" weapons: I've got a Shas'el with a Cyclic Ion Blaster. If I understand the rules correctly, when a weapon says "Assault 3" or "Heavy 2" it means it is that type of weapon and gets that many shots per time fired. So if my shas'el has an ion blaster which is Assault 5, and the shas'el has 3 attacks, does that mean that one model is pumping out 15 shots in one shooting phase? That seems a little too good to be true, so I wanted to make sure my understanding of these mechanics was correct.
4. Ethereal with EMP grenades. This wasn't something I was planning, but when using army builder I noticed the ethereal has the option to take EMP grenades by himself for 3 points. He may then join a unit, or have a retinue himself. Is this a sketchy rule essentially giving a squad of FW's emp grenades at the cost of one model? According to army builder it's legit, but does this just seem like an oversight? I always thought the entire unit barraging grenades was a little overkill so if someone presented me with this scenario I'd say it's fair game, but would this be one of those deals where players would just have to come to an agreement one way or the other?
Thanks for the input, I'm sure I'll come across more things I need clarification on in the future, but I don't want to make this post 'too' long. Again, thanks in advance.
