I finally got round to painting one singular Tau in order to try and find a good colour scheme. I went for Liche Purple armour and black clothing.

Please excuse the blurriness of the photos as I just can't get my crappy camera to focus on the model properly but I am not advertising the standard of the paint job as it is a test model. Comments on the colour scheme would be most welcome though.

it's quite hard to see from the pictures.

It looks fairly good, from what I can see, but I don't like the bright silver boots. They make me think he's Boss Zagstruck in disguise.

The purple is and black is a good combination but as others have already said the metallics don't look good, he looks like a member of Kiss with those silver boots on but otherwise good work

Lol, I spent ages trying to think of a good colour scheme and didn't really know what to do with the boots. I have orks that are mostly green and browns with some orange and yellow and ultra smurfs so I wanted a third colour that would easily distinguish them from my other armies. I like the purple but am thinking it's a bit dark. I am now leaning towards copying the vomit brown and yellow combo that they have in the codex to make it easier for myself.

What do you think, should I continue with the purple but change the boots or go with the codex colour.

You could lighten the purple up a bit, keep the clothing black and paint the boots black but pick out the tiny details on the boots with the purple you used with the armour

That's a good idea. I'll try that, thanks.
