Well, I've been working on painting my ork army for the WWWII. Mostly I've just been painting boyz, so it's not too bad if they aren't perfect. But a battlewagon is different. It's big, and modeled really well, and easily can be considered the center piece of an ork army. So basically, I don't want to screw it up, but my painting skills are terrible and even metals are hard.

Anyway, all I've painted so far on my battlewagon is the front armor piece, it looks ok, but not sure if I like how it came out.

Here's the front armor:

Here's the rest of it, just for a visual:

Anyway, any opinions/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey there. I think you made good start. The front looks battered and wartorn likt it should with orks.
Mabey add a few highlights or so to give it a little bit more depth.

For the body I would drybrush the entire hull with Tin Bitz 'n Boltgun Metal.
Than I would accentuate different plates and gubbinz with all kinds of bright colors like red and blue.
And than wash that with devlan mud and highlight with some Mithril Silver.

Just my 50 ct.

It really depends on what ork clan ure allegance is to, but personally, whenever I paint any ork vehicles i add alot of checkered patterns which can actually be very easy to do.

I also "chip" the very edges of plate etc with a silver (your choice of which but I prefer a brighter silver like chainmail or mithril silver).

And of course the old ork term "red wunz go faster", so try and encorporate some brighter colours (like red) to a few pannels to break up the black.

Hope thats of some help, Best of luck

I know this, unfortunately, all I can take pictures with is my cell phone as my digital camera's zoom broke so it takes even worse photos.
