Basically, when do you need 6es to hit a Fast Skimmer in close combat?

I'm looking at the rulebook and it says:

6+ to hit a vehicle moving at cruising speed.

Cruising speed is defined as 6"-12".

Fast Vehicles can move at a third level of Flat Out, and Fast Skimmers can gain a coversave from this.

I'm just wondering, can a Fast Skimmer move 12", fire a weapon/+defensive, and still require 6+ to hit in CC?

I remember reading something about Fast/Skimmers needing to flat-out to claim 6+... but I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I'll discount it for now >___>.

The rulebook addresses fast skimmers moving flat out, and says you need 6+ to hit them.

This isn't exclusionary, and doesn't overwrite the fact that if they move more than 6 and up to 12 you also need a 6 to hit them.

Being a skimmer doesn't give them any extra avoidance abilities in terms of close combat, like in 4th edition. A stationary skimmer is auto-hit, 1-6 is 4+, more than 6 to 12 is 6, and flat out is 6, but can be wrecked if you immobilize it.

wow =___=.

I must be very confused then...

I DO remember reading somewhere that skimmers get a 4+ to hit in CC, even if stationary...unless immobilized.

and needing to do 18+ to gain 6+ in CC...

What? You only need to do more than 6" with a skimmer to need 6's to hit...

I believe this is an accurate assessment.

While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

What? You only need to do more than 6" with a skimmer to need 6's to hit...

That's....exactly what I said. 1-6 is 4+, more than 6 to 12 is 6, and more than 12 is also 6.

Nope. Under vehicles it says what you need to hit vehicles compared to how fast they move [and more than 6 needs 6's]. Then under skimmers moving fast it says you hit them on 6's.

Time to read again then, and use a new rulebook.)

Excellent memory, but it's from an earlier edition of the rules. ;-)
