Subject: 40k style -> Company of Heroes or Dawn of War 2?

Hi folks,
I play Company of Heroes regularly and have sniffed into the beta of DOW2. I felt that even though DOW2 is obviously more 40k in style (döörp!), the game mechanic of COH seems to be a better representation of 40k (sans melee). Correct me if I'm wrong but the small variety of units in DOW2 especially the low count of tank-type models makes me feel that COH is the game with the better atmosphere and the better "40k-feel".
Tell me what you think, because I hesitate to buy DOW2 due to these reasons.

Same engine, tweaked game play, different beasts. DoW 2 is really about micro management.

Yep. CoH you can get away with leaving your men to fight a little bit longer, DoW2 is more constant management, I'd say.

We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |

I am 100% behind you schepp. I would have been happy with DoWII being a mod for CoH. CoH is perfect for the 40k universe and I enjoy playing it more than DoW. I was disappointed to see that DoWII wasn't as good as CoH. It all still seems very wrong to me.

Are there bouncing shots in DOW2? I had the feeling that almost all weapons do damage. Even against heavy armor. I love how low caliber shots bounce of heavy tanks.
Thanks for your thoughts.

DoW 2 Vs CoH = Epic win for DoW 2, CoH is just all abouth the spam, altoue DoW2 has some serious faults at the time beeing it still beatss all other RTS games by a long shot, no more spendig forever building a base, just one stronghold is all you need. And the micro in DoW 2 beats CoH bye miles

Seriously? Please explain further!
At the moment, I feel that the spammable Units are few and combined arms > spamming unit.

Command and Conquer is all about the spam.
You actually had to use this thing called tactics in COH. If that were true then please, max out on light infantry and ill summon 1 king Tiger Ace and we will see who will win.

5 Rifle squads + sticky bombs in the first 5 minutes is slowed difficult to counter. King tiger will do it, but he wont show up in the first 5 minutes. anything else you field in the first 5 minutes will get overwhelmed by 30 garands.

C&C is all about spam?
If that were true, then my three-tank Emperor team wouldn't do anything.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

CoH has effective counters against certain units. Sure you can spam but then the game isn't you a gakker like you.

Rigth.... And I suppose you are the genious that can think of a counter for everyting. CoH is just BORING! It takes no skills in team match, the ones thta just spam enough in the first five minuts or play as Alies and spam rifel squads with sticky bombs win. T1 spam in DoW 2 only makes you dead, there you need strategy to win, but then again this MY opinion

Anshal, could you please elaborate how DOW2 is superiour to COH strategywise? And why not tacticalwise?
Really want to know, but I don't get that much useful infos out of (not only) your comments.
