I started playing 40K about 8 months ago when on my usual gamenight (D&D) We were finding it harder and harder to get everbody together at once. My friend was very competitive and already into the game so my collection of Orks grew to a pretty big collection fairly quickly (about 4500 points now). So to motivate myself to paint I'm starting this blog of my progress. I chose Orks because I like the goofy head stompin fun of it all and I chose Blood Axe's because I love cammo and the fluff is pretty cool. So here's my first post of a Looted Wagon made from a basilisk. This is my first army so be kind and please C&C is welcom .

And my first squad of boyz, I'll be doing each squad a different cammo/suspender color for telling the hoard appart. These guys here are dirty urban cammo with red suspenders.

Woot, another Blood Axes player. I see you use a similar scheme of Blood Axe camo and Goff checkings, same with me and I think it works out great.

Here is my second set of shoota boys done in a blue cammo with yellow suspenders. also included my recently completed Trukk with a chocolet chip cammo (desert storm orks!) with red hubcaps to make the wheels go faster.

Wow I like all the camo. consider it looted, Deffskull style!

Holy Free Handing Machine BatMan! that is a lot of checkering on the that army must have taken for ever to do. Very Nice job with the painting. My only suggestion would be to do a very light dry brush of white over the bases because you almost can't see that there is texture on them in the pictures.

Update 09/17/09. Finaly finished my first HQ so here is my Big Mek KFF with power klaw conversion along with my Gretchin troop (they dident get any cammo or checks cause dey grots, its prison orange for dem).

At Last a completed battle wagon, its my first so I wanted to do a special cammo... IG Catachan Cammo and I think I nailed it (in an orky way at least). enjoi and as always C&C welcome.





I'm up to about a 1000 points painted and have at least 2 troops and a HQ. This blog is a great motavation. Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone.

I really dig the BW in catachan colors. Very neat taunt ^_-.

You had some paint thickness issues earlier in the thread, but with the BW they seem to have been resolved through practice! Keep it up!

Thin the paints a little bit on the tanks and look into a wash or two
btw the nobs faces are amazing

I really like the army. Having the colour variety between the squad suits the orks very well and adds a nice punch.

I like to see a wash on the red hubcaps, they look just a little too fresh for the rest of the army, but overall I think you've done a great job so far.

And finnaly today's last post my Warboss. I will be posting The Nob squad and their Battle wagon tommorow along with a finished squad of Lootas witch brings my total painted orks to around 2225 points. Well here's da Boss.

took the advice on drybrushing bases a lighter color (codex grey) but what color wash to use on red hub caps(mabey devlin mud)?

15 lootaz for fire support. with red deasert cammo and green cammo suspenders








This army took me a year to finish and I'm vear proud of myself. Only models not depicted are the rest of the blue cammo boys and the chocolet chip cammo boyz to go in the trukk (both completed) which I will post when I take my full army shot. I'll do 15 more lootaz next then take a break from painting orks for awhile (focus on getting my terrain painted). Next project...... highly converted Imperial fist army (something completly different from orks and a challange to paint yellow). Thanks for following my Blog.

I love me some checkerboard. Good stuff! I like the fact that there are a lot of colours in the army.

Looks pretty good, that desert storm trukk is solid gold.

I never posted an entire army pic, so her is my entire "Grimgob's Blood Axe Blitzkrieg" and is around 3000 points. The only model that doesnt have a close up in this blog is Ghazzy (the old metal one) and I will post some pics of him later. So without further ado.....
