Hi

From the DH codex we can get teleport homers for inquisitors, GK's and stormtroopers. Could they be used with a Space marine army to guide down deep striking landspeeders? The DH codex entry states it can be used to guide in DSing GK's, so it seems to me that this means other SM units (like termis and landspeeders) are excluded. Opinions anyone?

Sorry friend the wording is very specific, only teleporting Grey Knights can use it.

Kind of. The DH Teleport Homer references rules that no longer exist for using a large blast template to define the area a safe teleport can occur in, which unfortunately is not enough to actually allow you to use that method. As such, the DH Teleport Homer does not work and therefore cannot be used in a normal game.

However, if you and your opponent agree to allow DH Teleport Homers to work using current 5th Ed rules for such wargear, and the Marines you intend to guide are in your army, then yes your Inquisitor could take a Teleport Homer and guide in Space Marines from the same army.

How exactly are Space Marines, Grey Knights? Since the rule only lets Grey knights ignore the roll for scatter?

As jeffersonian000 pointed out, the DH Homer actually does nothing at all under the current rules, if you go solely by the codex.

It was updated in the Wargear book to have the same rules as everyone else's homers. Which allows it to work under the current Deep Strike rules, and applies its effects to all Terminators instead of specifically to Grey Knights.

of course, that leaves it not working for Power Armoured Grey Knights. Make of that what you will.

Classic case of edition slippage with this one. As mentioned, the rules for the DH tele'homer are broken now. So, options to try and make it work are:

1. RAI - Use current tele'homer rules but only for all Grey Knights.
2. Use current tele'homer rules so that's all terminators but not PAGK.
3. Use current tele'homer rules for all teleporters.
4. Use current homing beacon rules so it works for all deep strikers.
5. RAW - doesn't work anymore.

Option 1. will keep it closest to the codex so I'd stick with that myself. It certainly shouldn't be a homing beacon (for non-teleporters like land speeders) even marine tele-homers or Damocles command Rhino's don't do that. Option 3 is pretty reasonable but drops the restriction specified in the codex.

Or you can use Option 5, but that's just me being silly and wanting to play by the rules.

I thought you might say that.

Okay, option 1 unless you're playing Gwar! in which case you need a pint of Guiness followed by option 1.
