Hey guys i'm really bummed cause i can't find decent plasticard anywhere in australia. Does anyone australian here know where? a website or somewhere in the vacinity of adelaide? i really want to start of some heavy converting of my Shas'o :(

What's a good substitute for plasticard? ice-cream containters n their lids?

I have a hard time finding anything besides plain plasticard and I live in the states. I would check ebay though, they sometimes have sellers that sell plasticard sheets in different sizes , thicknesses, and patterns. If not I really can't help ya. If anyone knows a good , non-scamming, good variety site that sells plasticard in the usa(or brick and mortar store near south central pennsylvania), I'd appreciate that info too.

In the embrace of the great Nurgle, I am no longer afraid, for with His pestilential favour I have become that which I once most feared: Death.

i lucked out and found a plastistruct dealer about 40 minutes from my house, so need less to say i spent a good $50 there the first time i went.

here is the website, hope it helps out some.

http://www.plastruct.com/

there is a section on there for austrailian dealers, there is only two though, AUSTRALIA, MELBOURNE JELCORP PTY LTD. and AUSTRALIA, PARRAMATTA BERG'S HOBBIES PTY, LTD.

hope that helps out a little.

they're based in Newcastle NSW but will send stuff anywhere. They keep a couple of brands but mainly evergreen.

Also you could try Eckersly's art supplies ... they are a chain I think. they usually have plastruct.

Try non GW hobby shops and anywhere that sells architectural supplies.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Online is a good place. Hobbyco in Sydney, most other good hobby stores... Adelaide I wouldn't know, though. Anyone who stocks Galeforce Nine products ought to have it in stock.

I am not sure about what kind of hardware/lumber stores you might have around you but I buy "for sale" signs for this use. It is plasticard and at a good store you can get 2 different thicknesses as well. The price is right too.

I actually have a thread about an orky dice tower I have yet to finish and you can clearly see the "FOR SALE" on it.

Look for "Model railway" suppliers.

Any decent model shop in Adelaide will stock it.
My brother-in-law is a model railroader - I'll ask him if he knows anywhere in Adelaide (he tends to know where to find stuff in most capitals as the Hornby collectors club go wandering).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Yes! But I have noticed that these (at least in my area) are getting harder to find. Many of them are now that kind of plastic card-board style.

There's a model railway shop on King William Road in Adelaide, just south of Greenhill Rd near where the tram line is. They'll probably have a pretty good range.

That and call it 'sheet styrene' (what it is properly called).

If anyone knows a website that ships cheaply to the usa I'd still like to find a better place than ebay to find it reliably.

Sign shops might have offcuts to give to you. My wife threw away tons of it before I realized her stores used large sheets of it in their signage..

I got two 3'X6' sheets from usplastics.com. You can get a sheet of 1mm(.040") for $13 and a sheet of 1.5mm(.060") for $19. It was cheaper last year when I bought it. Shipping wasn't bad at all, but I bought some DVD cases to amortize the shipping. But it's two sheets nearly the size of a game board rolled into a tube for a fraction of the cost of what Plastructs sells it for. 20 sq ft for the same price as 3 sq ft of plastruct.

Try the margarine containers in australia.

They are made out of the same styrene as regular sheet (but it is thin stuff. About 0.25mm).

You also have to scrub the paint off them (they are screen printed with their 'labelling' but fine sandpaper removes it).

You can also get it from places like "reverse garbage" (who handle industrial misprints and excess plastics, fabrics and so forth.). Although they are in Sydney (I have a mate who lives not far from them though.
