Does anybody know anthing about any shops, or players around Alexandria Virginia, or fort belvoir. just wondering

Alexandria, VA? Ya dude there's some real good options for 40K and wargaming in general:

First, there is the actual Springfield GW store if you jsut want to get in a quick game. Nice enough staff and good terrain (it's a GW store afterall).

Second, if your looking for a more structured/gaming club route, there's the Iron Fist League. They meet @ the "Game Parlours" in Chantilly and Woodbridge. I've played games against their members on several occasions. Good experiences all around and a good local gaming league but I don't think they have a base of operation in Alexandria. They are easy to find on the web. Just google their name plus 40K and it should come up.

Third, if you're looking for something more informal, I'm part of a group based in Alexandria (395/mixing bowl area). We schedule weekly match-ups via email and we've got a decent 40K mailing list (I think it's around 20 local gamers ATM). Generally 2-6 guys getting together to drink heavily and blow the crap out of each other. Good times.
