Most VC players tend to choose either Skeletons or Ghouls as their compulsory core (so either 3 units of Skeletons or 3 units of Ghouls). You really don't need to take a unit of Zombies, as you can just raise them out of the ground if you need them.

Dire Wolves are usually taken in units of 5 (no Doom Wolf). They aren't a killing unit, they are meant for screening, march blocking and re-directing.

There are a couple of magic items that you should really consider trying to get into this army. Banner of the Barrows for the Grave Guard, Helm of Commandment on one of your Vampires (preferably on your Vampire Lord), Book of Arkhan on one of your Vampires (Van Hell's Dance Macabre really is the most dangerous spell for your opponents) and, if you want to take the real cheese, consider taking a Wight King BSB with the Drakenhoff Banner to go with your Grave Guard.

Thank you very much!

As many as you can muster. A zombie quagmire is something your opponent will not want to deal with. A tip for the mass zombie modelling, use the headstones that come with the minis. Also, you can use just torsos or hands coming out of the ground (different races) to fill in the ranks.

Your new list doesn't have three compulsory core choices (Corpse Carts and Dire Wolves do not count towards the minimum requirement). Also, replace the Ghouls by Skeletons (your Lord has the Lord of the Dead Vampire Power, this way you'll get more use out of it).

The Grave Guard would be better of with the Banner of the Barrows instead of the Banner of the Dead Legion.

Those are really the only points I'd have to critique this list. Looking good!

Your point costs are off on quite a few things. Nightshroud (you call it armor of the night) is only 20 points. Dark Acolyte is 30 points. Honestly, Sceptre of De Noirot is worthless. That 25 points is better spent elsewhere. Also, if you're going to take Dark Acolyte on your vamp then you might as well take Lord of the Dead as well. It's well worth it to take 2 less skeles to fit that into your list since you'll end up summoning a lot more than 2 skeles over the course of the game.

If you're going to take dire wolves then you should take 7 of them with a doom wolf. This makes them a dragon trap. If you charge a dragon (or any big, mean critter with a hero on it that will probably destroy your army) and challenge with your doomwolf then you will have one wolf left at the end of the first round of combat. It tarpits a dragon for a turn.

I would fill out one unit of dire wolves and drop the other. Make sure that you have 3 units of skeles. Even if the units are small you'll be able to raise them to a very respectable level in the first couple of turns before your opponent even has a chance to do much to them.

also balefire on the corpse cart is way better than the lodestone. I'd drop the vargulf or coach for some more compulsory core choices.

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
