Another priest question, this time concerning the WH ones.

Now, you can attach WH priests to IG infantry platoons. Only 1 per squad according to their rules. This is on your roster, not prior to deployment, as they must ALWAYS be attached to something.

Now the question, what happens to the WH priests when you use the new "combined squad" rule (prior to deployment) to make them one unit? From that point onward they are a single unit. Do the priests stay, or do they spontaneously combust?

I would say that because Squads only Merge on Deployment, you end up with x0 men with x priests attached.

I would agree, the Squad of 20 would hold both priests, but their skills should not stack.

Ignoring that for the moment, be careful with this interpretation. The IG codex says that your squads can merge to form something called a "Combined Squad" which aren't listed under the WH priests rules as something he can join. I'm not saying that it would be the correct way of reading this, but it is another valid, if extremely narrow, translation of the text.

EDIT: Play it however you want btw, just throwing it out there in case somebody throws a fit about your six priests in one squad so you can have your defense rehearsed.

That's the real question, yes. Those WH priests cripple IG squads. Combining squads so that even more troopers are affected strikes me as the height of stupidity.

Otherwise, you're breaking one of the rules for priests.

No, the rules for priests say that each squad can only have 1 priest assigned to it. This is all well and good. If those squads merge at deployment, the priests are still satisfied that each squad only had 1 priest assigned to it at the start.
