Was thinking of getting into Hordes and I was thinking of working up to this list:

Zaal
Savage
Krea
10 Karax
10 Karax
AG
AG
6 Bone Grinders
Gobbers

Totals to 292.88 when bought the normal way, ouch....Must hunt for some better buys elsewhere if I can.

Basically the Karax form the front walls and everyone else hides behind.
Krea and Gobbers offer defense.
Savage is Zaal's 'body guard' and is general counter attack when AG's are occupied.
AG's do their thing, counter chargers.
Zaal does his sniping with the increased range for soulburn with grinders.
Last stand for Karax when they reach the enemy.
Hollow when he needs fury while sending the karax to die.

Basically it'll be an unstable list with the goal of being unstable...I think that's the best way to describe it.

Karax is nice for the blocking of LoS and defensive values, but I feel a little dirty if I didn't use some Pret. Swordsmen.

What do you guys think?

One thing about Zaal is that Hollow forces you to gain Fury when the model dies. It's automatic.

So you can imagine a turn where Karax die unwanted, or don't
die enough. You're going to have to be careful how you plan around
this.

True, but the karax seem to have special rules to minimize it (and I know that that is not always what happens with dice).

Shield wall buffs their durability to prevent unwated deaths, but they still occur.

Combined attacks mean they can kill each other well enough if they break out of shield wall.

The big worry would be the warbeasts and their fury...if Zaal is topped off with unwanted deaths, they go and frenzy.
Well, with the bone grinders they can still use an animus....so I could (if desperate) kill the krea or savage and use the animus off of bone grinders....but prob. really bad move.
