Subject: DC's Blackest Night vs Seven Dealy Sins

Okay, so the Blackest Night Storyline is underway in the DC Universe. Well, I was doing some research and came across the seven deadly sins. I studied a little more and something clicked in my head. ROY G BIV - Seven colors of the rainbow. Seven lanterns of the color spectrum. Seven emotions of the spectrum. Seven deadly sins.
Color - Emotion - Sin
Red - Rage - Wrath
No real need for an explanation here. The violent induction of the Red Lanterns and the nature of this corps fully embodies the sin of Wrath.
Orange - Avarice - Greed
No real need for an explanation here. The desire of Agent Orange to possess all the Orange Lantern Rings personifies greed and avarice.
Yellow - Fear – Envy
When Sinestro attacks the Green Lantern Corp, he attacks out of envy of the Guardians designating themselves as the protectors of the universe. Thus, Sinenstro only wishes to overthrow them to create his new world order.
Green - Willpower – Pride
The most powerful of the Lanterns…or so they thought until the other lanterns started to reveal their presence. Their pride can be translated into arrogance as shown when Superman/boy Prime escaped repeatedly from his incarceration under the Green Lantern Corps.
Blue - Hope – Despair/Sloth
Though this may seem to be the exact opposite of the emotional spectrum, the blue light of hope cannot exist without the Green Lanterns at their side. Therefore, the despair they feel is due to this particular need. Also, they cannot do anything without the light of green nearby, thus, the sloth enters this color.
Indigo - Compassion – Sorrow
The Indigo tribe is the most elusive of the corps. They seek to spread goodwill in the universe but what will the feel when that good will is not accepted. Though not much is known about these lanterns, their reclusive nature would lead us to believe they lead a sorrowful life of being alone.
Violet - Love - Lust
No real need for an explanation here. The Star Sapphires are instilled with the power to love and their first act as a Sapphire is to search out the one they love the most. Thus, the embodiment of lust.

Seems about right.
I'm enjoying the story a lot more than i thought I would, it seems it takes killing him and having him come back as a zombie to make Aquaman cool. Who'd a thunk.
... you seen the big spoiler about who is the BIG BAD ?
|
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

He's on the next cover of previews.
If you want to know more-- and there's a veritable heap o' spoilers-- then journey on.
..see what the heroes on the cover all have in common eh ..
... for the life of me I cannot remember which one G'hu is, I'll investigate. Never thought I'd be this eager over a GL story though, books ben doing well last few yearsm since they sorted Hal and co out. Astonishing.
Needs moar Mogo though.

Geoff Johns has already confirmed that Nekron is behind the Blackest Night. I'm guess due to the fact that all the heroes keep coming back from the dead escaping his realm and he is tired of losing souls.
