I wish there were star wars minis out there. Does anyone feel the same way?( I mean good ones. Not crappy wizzards of the coast models)

There's the WotC prepaints... WEG had some deal when they had the license: someone was selling character-style minis back then.

For less serious games (Or, hey, I'd do this if I was wealthy and running the SW RPG) you could always use Lego Minifigs...

I'm not surprised if someone carries not-Jedi and not-wookies the same as a few companies carry not-Firefly Crew, Not-The-Doctor, etc...

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Are you looking for ships or characters?

A lot of these characters strongly resemble miniatures from various well-known science fiction settings, bu not in a legally actionable way.

I've seen the same for ships, too. Saw a guy who used to sue little Firefly-class traders for A Call to Arms civilian freighters...

What's wrong with the WotC pre-paints? I thought they looked pretty nice.

They are poorly painted. Though I agree the models are ok. But they don't have any GW minature features like shading or highlights plus whats the point of a minature game that you can't paint cause that is what I would actually would like to do with them. I am probably sure that a few people would like to paint star wars too. For example there are a lot of Clone Trooper Legions but they are all the single block white colour which is just way too boring.

Clone trooper legions aren't plain white.

They all have the coloured detailing (red/green/blue/etc).

Stormtroopers on the other hand, are boring, soulless white.

For non-pre-painted SW minis, you have to find the old WEG metals.

GW can't afford the licence to make them (Hasbro can) and WOULD get legally slapped if they tried.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

They made LOTR. And the clone trooper models are a solid white

Why can't you repaint them yourself?

Hey there's an idea. Will the paint stick though? I have felt WoTC minis before and they feel like the ones that dont handle paint well.

Well there's always the West End Games miniatures, they are a true 25mm, and Wizards of the Coarst did a short run of about twenty metal 28mm figures of which I have two.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Soft plastic figures are made of dense polypropylene or polythene rather than polystyrene.

They can be primed for painting with Plasti-Kote plastic primer spray (not the Polystyrene spray) or with brush-on acrylic gesso.

The second method has the advantage that you can tint the gesso with paint to form a base coat.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

YES! I definately agree! I was collecting a Minas Tirith army about three years ago and was really desperatly wanting them to bring out a Star Wars type game.

Even a Battlefleet Gothic style Star Wars game would be awesome, in my opinion.

I was taking a look at the WOTC collection the other day and I saw that the poses were crap.
Ah well. You can only dream.
