Well, first up, the baboon. Well, actually, a howling banshee. I just think that they look like baboons with this colour scheme.
Although I don't find the new banshees visually offensive at all, I find the old ones look much, much better. Managed to get a blister of 3 for $8.00CDN at my hobbyshop. Only one they had though. Although I'm aware that for any other product, selling contents like that would be simple theivery, in the case GW products, it's almost free!
Anyway, fairly standard colour scheme here. Keeping with my entire Eldar set by going with a look that's slightly grittier and more subdued then the Eldar are known to be.

And the lizard. Second temple guardian. In terms of improvements from that champion, this one gets rid of the first brown glaze wash altogether, and has some drybrushing done on the shield. Also, the wash is slightly lighter.

Yup the good ol' howling banshees. I like you colour scheme for Mr lizard. When ever I see a blue Lizard I feel like jumping the gun

As talented as GW's painters are, I'm of the opinion that they can't paint lizardmen to save their lives. On a technical level, they look great, but their colour choice for the scalies is just horrible. It looks even worse on the new temple guard, which have frills so ridiculously large you don't know whether you should laugh at them or feel sorry for them.
Why they decided to make new Temple Guard models when the old ones were excellent, and there are plenty of other scalies that needed a makeover(Saurus, Cold ones... especially the cold ones) is beyond me.

Both look great. Though the pistol of the howling banshee is screaming for a highlight or a wash

also compliment the rest of the model with orangy-red gems, or make em gold

yeah, hit the pistol on the banshee with a badab black wash, and then a very light drybrush of either boltgun or chainmail. That will cut the shine, but still make it look like metal

I like the lizards though. I might even paint mine some day....

About the baboon's pistol, it's supposed to be washed with blue ink(do that with all my Eldar guns), but this one didn't take properly. I'll have to wash it again when I do my next Banshee.
