I saw district 9 last night verycool! what a breath of fresh air . not recycled scifi . no spoilers here . the weapons are awesome in it . the power armor in is awesome . makes me want to buy the new at 43 cog army box . the suits and aliens look very similar . one thing that is great is the movies full of robo cop / starship trooper action and violence . worth seeing guys for us sci fi geeks!

I saw it a few days before release and I agree it is a good movie.

I also enjoyed it but I will warn anyone who watches it that the first 20-30 minutes is a chore to watch. I've never had a movie turn around on me like that one; at first I thought it was one of the most lame movies I've ever seen in a theater but by the end I was thinking this was possibly the best movie of the summer.

I had the guy responsible for selling Distribution Rights (I think thats what he did) in the back of my Taxi on Sunday, driving him to the Airport so he could attend the South African Premiere.

Oddly, this film rose from the ashes of Halo when the funding fell through, and is based on a short the Director made that caught Peter Jacksons eye.

I am extremely likely to go and see this film, but my lack of love for movie theatres has long since worn thin...

Perhaps I will wait a decade and listen to what other people have to say before getting around to watch it.

I see quite a few movies, and this is the only one(next to Star Trek) that I've felt has lived up to the hype.

The twist is something you don't see coming, the action(when it happens) is fairly well-paced, and the storyline is just unique.

Add in that there IS a political/ethical message(which unlike most movies of the type, doesn't shove it in your face left and right) and it makes for quite a good summer movie if you want a movie that forces you to think rather than "oooh, explosions!".
