I managed to catch this last night at a preview screening at my local cinema. This film is historically nonsensical, vulgar, gratuitous, obscenely violent, glorifys war atrocities and is utterly over the top in every way imaginable.

And I'm proud to say I loved every single bloody soaked second. Unless you are the sort of person who insists on historical accuracy in their war movies I cannot recommended this enough. 9/10!

One of the early reviews I read about it described it as follows: "the whole thing is a bizarrely touching exercise in vicarious wish-fulfillment, in which a Gentile filmmaker fashions an alternate history that allows the Jews to kick Hitler’s ass—literally, not metaphorically."

Did it seem that way to you as well?

That seems fairly accurate.

Quentin Tarantino's newest movie.

Haven't seen much of it,only half a trailer so I am rather undecided on wether to watch it or not.

After I saw the trailer for it many moons ago I was nearly sick at how bad it looked. I haven't liked a siingle Tarantino movie to date and seeing as this one seems to just want to be insulting and bloody for the sake of being insulting and bloody I refuse to even entertain the idea of seeing it.

Forever alone

Sounds OK. I like a bit of gratuitous violence myself, but I have a feeling that Hollywood's going to be out of fake blood for months.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

The accents are horrible and while yes it is a homage to the cheesy war movies of the 60's this is just.. UGH.

WHY is that kid from the office in it??

I was so excited by the first 10 seconds of the commercial, and then his face popped up and ruined it. He can't act in the office let alone in a WW2 setting. Even in a small a sample as a 1 second clip in a commercial he felt out of place. He has to be buddies with the director or something, sort of like a "hey buddy hook me up" deal.

So I refuse to see it. Which is a shame because the rest looked funny, if not historically accurate at all

I cannot honestly say that this movie looks good. Another zombie flick would have been a whole lot better, regardless of how good this flick turns out to be.

On the TV adverts they just call it 'Inglorious'. Is this a worthy follow on to the tradition of 'Kelly's Heroes' or just kosher porn? Maybe I'll go find out.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Its pronounced natzi.

And each one of them is responsible for brining back 100 natzi scalps.

There was another movie of the about same title.

Inglorious Basterds with an "a" instead of an "e".

They changed it so they could make posters. Apparently just changing the one letter made it ok.

Funny, Brits say it as 'Narrhht-zee'.

We got it wrong for once. I defy you to find a German saying Nartzee.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

I think pretty much all of Tarantino's movies could be described in this fashion. I liked Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. Not a huge fan of anything else of his. I probably won't see it, just because I haven't made it to a movie in about 6 months, unless it was Rated G and I had one or more kids in tow.
