I'm wanting to start selling painted miniatures on Ebay. My plan at the moment is to start by selling Space Marine combat squads in various colourschemes, and Imperial Guard cadian squads.

The issue I have at the moment is price. I have seen similar lots for sale on Ebay for about £7. The cost of those lots new would be £12 each, and whilst I need to make a profit, I don't want to scare off potential buyers either.

Examples of my painting:

What would dakka reccommend as an appropriate price point? And does anyone have any advice for a first-time seller?

To be honest, unless you're painting things at Golden Demon standard, you'll rarely make a profit selling painted miniatures on Ebay. You're lucky if painted stuff breaks even with the initial retail cost on Ebay.

A new day, a new time zone.

Selling models pre-painted on ebay is probably going to earn you very little money. You'd probably be better off painting on commission.

I'm aware that auctions tend to sell low. If I was to list them as "buy it now", with a price of £17 (so total cost on international shipping should be about £20), do you see them selling?

I have tried the same thing myself. Yes commission is better, I have sold as both before. Nice for thinking that but the guys are right if you do make a profit it is hard to justify the time spent painting the model.

To be honest minimum wage pays better.

To echo similar sentiments -

Basically, you really need to have award-winning-caliber painting to be able to sell off any second hand models online. Unless the items in question are hard to obtain through regular retail, you will be lucky to break even.
