Been reading Dakka for a long time learning the game and was able to finally get a 1K game in having just finished putting the models together. I faced a SM friend of mine who started around the same time as me but has up to 1850 of Marines. Here was our lists:

Mission: Capture and Control
Deployment: Dawn of War
Objectives: One point was in the center inbetween two impassable rock formations while the other was on the west side inside a ruin. Space Marines won the roll and chose to go second.
Deployment: Orks deployed both squads as far forward as possible. One was pretty much dead center of the table near the rock Obj while the other was a little bit west closer to the ruins.
Space Marines Deployed both squads and the MOTF in the North-west corner in between two ruins. Trying to force the orks to either take difficult terrain checks or funnel through the small opening.
Tun 1 Orks: The nine kannons came on the board in a straight line trying to threaten as much of the board as possible. The Stormboyz rolled a 2 for movement and came in on the west side on the south side of the ruin with the objective. Both ork squads ran forward, one claimed the rock Obj while the other could not make it to the north ruin to get cover from both SM squads.
Turn 1 SM: Both land speeders came in next to the Marines and got ready to shoot. The Stern came in farther east and disembarked in rapid fire range while the drop pod landed right in front of the Rock Obj blocking the way forward. The missed his melta shot but killed four orks with his heavy flamer. Everything else poured shots into the west slugga squad killing 23 orks. They made thier leadership check after rerolling from the bosspole (wound saved as well).
Turn 2 Orks: Seeing the chance to hit their troops, the Stormboyz lept over the ruins...with one corkscrewing into the ground (rolled 1 for movement). The 7 ork squad realized they would never make it to the ruins so made a dash towards the stern. All nine kannons open up on the Dread, eight miss with the last shot failing to do anything. The stormboyz fire thier pistols into one marine squad downing one before charging into one squad and a Landspeeder. The marines hit first killing three boyz. In return the Nob kills the MOTF while the boyz down one more marine. The orks hitting the Landspeeder tear off its assault cannon. The 7 ork squad charges into the stern squad killing four while they were only able to kill two, the stern are cut down attempting to fall back. The nob from the 26 ork squad attempts to break open the dread but fails to scratch it, the Warboss is unable to get into CC with it due to the small space, so he beats on the Drop Pod for fun. The Dread beats a couple of orks down.
Turn 2 Marines: The Landspeeders fly away from the CC and land north of the ruin while the Razorback reverses away from the small ork squad. They combine their shots to down four more orks. They fail their leadership check but the Nob kills one of em to keep them fighting. The Dread continues to kill a few orks while the nob can't get past his front armor. The second squad of marines joins the assault against the stormboyz and turns the tide. The stormboyz are knocked out of fearless but make their LD check.
Turn 3 Orks: With nothing to shoot at the kannons crawl forward. The Dread pummels a few more orks but this time the nob is able to punch through, causing it to explode taking a few more orks with it. The nob and boy make a last ditch attack against the razorback and manage to immobilize it. The storm boyz keep fighting a losing battle against the tacticals but stay in thanks to the bosspole.
Turn 3 Marines: Getting tired of BatNob and the Slug-Wonder running around killing stern and immobilizing vehicles the AC LS and RB combine fire to wipe them out. The other LS fired its HB into the remaining slugga squad to no effect. The stormboyz had managed to whittle the original Tac squad down to two marines before losing their LD check twice and getting wiped out.
Turn 4 Orks: The slugga squad led by the Warboss started trudging West towards the remaining Marines and the obj. The big guns shot at the damaged LS ripping off its HB leaving it weaponless.
Turn 4 Marines: The Tacticals moved towards the ruin trying to get within range of their obj. The RB and LS combined thier firepower to take out a few more orks. while the other one boosted behind the rock ready to contest.
Turn 5 Orks: The warboss let out a WAAAGGGHH and charged straight into the full squad of Marines. Each side was able to down four of the other.
Turn 5 Marines: The LS remained hidden behind the ruins to avoid the range of the big guns. The other one jumped near the ruins to contest the obj. The small tac squad joined the fight for control of the obj. The Orks killed four more Marines while the marines were only able to put one wound on the Warboss. They pass their LD and stay in the fight.
Roll for another turn and get a 4.
Turn 6 Orks: The big guns open up on the LS and stun it. Leaving it vulnerable if the orks win the melee and get a Turn 7. They get halfway there by wiping out both squads and consolidating on the objective.
Turn 6 Marines: With the RB out of range the LS tries to put some fire into the slugga squad but doesn't do much.
Roll for another turn and get a 3. Draw.
The game was a lot of fun. I was worried after I got shot up so bad in the first round that the game was gonna go south quickly but the stormboyz really did nice even though they ended up getting swarmed and killed. The kannons didn't do a whole lot but did force his Landspeeders to hide at the back of the board and sometimes give me cover saves from shooting through area terrain. Questions and comments welcome.
