So here's what I've been working on lately. The theme is a desert city of lizardmen posted in the wastes to maintain the ley lines. For centuries they have lain dormant underneath the sands. With the recent resurgence of dark magic coursing over the lands from the forgotten kingdom of Khemri, they have awakened to carry out the plans of the old ones.

Color scheme for Saurus(the scales are actually lighter than the skin, but for some reason that didn't translate to photographs.

My Engine of the Gods:

I have also recently started 40k and have been working an an altered ultramarines force. I use enchanted blue instead of ultramarine blue and white shoulder lining instead of gold(except for officers).

It is my first efforts with hard lines and with pigments, and I am still learning what techniques work with 40k. After years of fantasy I'm far too used to painting organic details instead of manufactured vehicles and weapons.

Welcome to Dakka Aerethan. I definitely like the Lizardmen with the desert theme. What kind of wash did you use on your rhino? It looks like that rhino just ran over your whole Lizardmen army.

Echoing words above: Welcome.

I really like the Lizardmen! Really like alot! The SM arent quite to my taste but still nicely painted.

Do you have more pictures of your Lizards?

Oi!

Welcome to Dah Madhouse.

Nice work. Especially the desert Lizardmen.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

The rhino was primed black, then had a coat of mordian blue, enchanted blue and a lightning blue for the hard lines. I then went over the creases with badab black wash as well as over the rivets. I used Mig Pigments standard rust for that effect and mig dry mud for the tracks and lower body.

looks rather nice overall

for your marines, the transfers seem a touch clean and pristine compared to the rest of the vehicle, other then that they look good

the rhino is far from finished, and I am planning on weathering the decals a bit so that they blend in better.

Very impressive skills! I started my ultramarines with enchanted blue, but later on favored the deeper Ultramarines blue. Fluff wise, white is the color of the first company. But i usually dont go with the fluff either.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".
