Im looking at going DE, because of all the bad guys they seem the most fun.. until you look at the codex and the model range compared to EVERY other team (Excepting Crons.. my bad guys). But there is nooo way im gonna invest in a bunch if they're just going to be retooled re worked within the next 6-12 months. I've heard rumours of the Crons codex about to get fudged and the last thing i want to do is buy into a team on a 3rd Ed codex, only to find the new 5th Ed (if when its released) is completely and totally epic fail. So whats the latest rumours and gossip surrounding a redo/new Dex?

I do believe the current consensus is that new DE will show up sometime after Space Wolves but before the End Times.

I think currently the vague commentary is for a end of 2009 to early 2010 release, but to be honest, I recall at the end of last year everyone was saying that DE would be out early 2009 so your mileage may vary. Really, until GW officially announces the date and shows me some models I'm still expecting at any second for them to shout 'gotcha!' and reveal it was all a hoax.

Oh, and congrats on considering the awesomeness that is the DE, those other races would like to act like they're top dogs in the galaxy, but we know the real score. We're pirates, and until GW releases space ninjas; by definition we're the best.

Elfs who are Dark and also in Space and Who are into Bondage but in a PG13 sort of way are banned in Red China aren't they?

Anyway there is not shortage of people who SWEAR the new DE are almost done, but not one photo or sketch or rules rumor has surfaced so I would say they're a while off.

Oh but what Red China allows and what a good proxy service lets me do is another thing. And hurray for TaoBao, chinese ebay, my gateway to the goodness of GW in an otherwise entertainment devoid country. Give me a good campaign over some terracotta warriors anyday. Great Wall of China? been there done that. Cadia on the other hand? now thats a wall. lol
Heres some perspective on DE though.. when i was 13, thereabouts, the starter box was Black Templar and a 20 warrior DE Set with citadel ruins. The codex i see now is still the same as then. im now 21.
