The private army of Grand Master Lycarian Vol. Anyway, this army is based around the use of Valkyries and Vendettas as well as the Forge World Elysian Drop Troops models. Anyway, here goes.

HQ: 549 Points
Lord Comissar - w/Carapace Armor, Power Fist, (Chimera Dedicated)

Grey Knight Grand Master w/ MC Nemesis Force Weapon, Psycannon
4x Grey Knight Terminator Retinue w/ Psycannon

Elites: 300 Pts
Brother Captain w/ Psycannon, 4x Grey Knight Terminators w/ Psycannon

Troops: 765 Points
3x Veteran Squad: Sergeant, Vox Caster, Grenade Launcher, Demolitions

2x Grey Knight Squad: Justicar w/ Frags, 7x Grey Knights

Fast Attack: 560 Points
2x Valkyrie Assault Carriers w/ Heavy Bolter sponsons, Multiple Rocket Pods

2x Vendetta Gunships w/ Heay Bolter Sponsons

This list leaves me with 324 points left over. I'm tapped as far as Grey Knights goes unless I bring one fast attack squad. What I need is suggestions for the rest of the points as well as the deployment of the units. What should I put the Grey Knights in and what should I put the Demolition Veterans in? Basically the Veterans are to slam down some fire and blow up tanks with the Demo charges and then the Knights move up and fight for objectives. The 3rd Veteran squad is with the Comissar inside of the Chimera, again moving for some objectives. Again, I have never played Guard and therefore I'm just not sure what I should use. Anyway, thanks for all help and pointers that can be given. Thanks.

Put the veteran squads in chimeras, this gives you the option of letting them run forward to kill AV14 and letting the GK ride in the Chims or the other way around if you are facing infantry heavy armies.

The vets need meltas, Demo Charges are VERY bad at blowing up tanks. If you keep the Demo Charges on top of the meltas thats fine as it gives them a secondary anti infantry role.

I strongly recomend finding room for an executioner. TH/SS terminators can be a major problem for guard and they eat GKT alive.

Meltas huh? What about the Valkyries and the Vendettas? Are they not good for the Veterans? I thought since they're so fast that it would work out well to get those weapons to blow up tanks real close at the start of it.

TH/SS terminators are tough, just need to shoot the heck out of them as they move up on yah. I wouldn't plan on tossing the terminators into the face of TH/SS troops. Also, if you keep moving your vehicles about you can really just say nuts to the TH/SS terminators as they will only hit on 6's if they get to your transports.

I can purchase the weapons pack from Forge World, it has meltas in it.

Meltas for the vets, targeters for any grey knight character that can take one, and maybe a land raider to scoop up anyone who got shot down/ carry a term squad that you dont want to ds.
